Application and Technical Service Specialist
Details: This position is a critical interface to the BTG customers. Working hand in hand with the account managers, he or she will support existing customers in their usage of BTG metering technology. The paper and board mills supported will predominantly be in the USA but with a possibility of very occasional needs arising in other papermaking parts of the world. The primary area of focus in the mills is the “surface treatment" of the paper or board substrate, however providing technical knowledge and advice upstream and downstream of this operation is an important value adding component for the customers’ greater satisfaction and a differentiating factor of BTG. This position will have close customer relationships that will range from operators, engineers, machine management personnel, and top operations leadership, and will be a key member of the BTG North American Team. Percentage Time Breakdown & Major Accountabilities This individual’s functional percentage breakdown/focus will be as follows: 75% Customer facing activities 15% follow-up work with customers 10% Communication internally Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the regional Sales Manager and Technical Manager for the approach to, and needs of, specific customers. Support the customer with technical advice, troubleshooting and “hands on" service work in the mills. Conduct trials of different or new products in the field. Write high quality visit or service reports to be distributed both internally and to the customers. Interface with the technical staff and the manufacturing facilities to provide excellent feedback on product and process performance; this being necessary to insure BTG leadership in the industry. Participate in company meetings to discuss, fine-tune, and help create tactical plans. Independently plan and schedule activities and travel in the most efficient and cost effective fashion.

Communicates problems or concerns to the Team Leader or physician. Identifies and communicates patient related issues to Team Leader or physician. The HR Manager will plan, direct and coordinate theimplementation of HR programs and services through effective partnership withemployees. Primary focus will be onidentifying needs and opportunities, evaluating HR best practices, recommendingnew HR programs, providing HR advice and service, and implementing approvedprograms in support of the HR Strategy for the business. Thisis a hands-on role position supporting a large manufacturing operation. The HR Manager isresponsible for the day to day management of the HR function within thebusiness segment including the following: Leads HR function in the timely development, approval and launch of new and existing programs (i.e. Succession Development, Organizational Survey, Open Enrollment, Performance Management, etc.). Provides advice, counsel and service to management and employees in this service oriented role. Leads the development of Company employee relations strategies providing a foundation for continued consistent and fair treatment of Employees. Aggressively leads all talent acquisition activity through the development of a robust talent pipeline methodology. Leads the development of HR plans for the business based on Company and Corporate HR needs. Monitors on an ongoing basis, organizational performance and HR best practices. Evaluates the effectiveness of programs and takes concise action in improving performance. Develops and/or acquires new programs, which can originate either inside or outside the company, to fulfill HR needs. Maintains positive and collaborative working relationships with Corporate and business managers in the achievement of the business plan. Monitor and evaluate the performance planning and evaluation processes in the business to assure fair and equitable treatment of Employees and appropriate recognition, reward and accountability.
