Chemist

Details: Job is located in Lake Charles, LA. Chemist to support areas in Analytical Lab in the Research & Development Department. The candidate would need to have QC equipment experience. What we require is basic laboratory skills and experience with wet chemistry techniques. This person also needs to be able to follow written methods and procedures. They also need to perform basic chemical calculations (e.g., concentration and dilution). They need to be familiar with different types of glassware and their appropriate use (e.g., volumetric pipette, graduated cylinder, etc.). Probably the most important thing is they need to exhibit good technique and be fairly meticulous . More specifically duties: Sample prep (dilution, filtering, vial derivitizations, solvent evaporation, etc.). Preparing standards and reagent solutions of specific concentration. Autotitrations using methods that are already in-place. Liquid-Liquid extractions (standard procedures in place). Candidate with experience in gas or liquid chromatography (operation of instrumentation and familiarity with processing chromatograms) - a definite plus!
