Badgerland's big show here Sunday

Badgerland Classics and Customs will come to a new location—Antigo’s one-of-a-kind Peaceful Valley—for its 28th annual car show on Sunday. Long known for its hospitality, Peaceful Valley has been revitalized through a city-sponsored project that includes an expansive new blacktopped festival and parking area, park and playground, and connections to the city’s trail system along Spring Brook and Antigo Lake. City council approves employee book, replaces elements from negotiations

With Wisconsin’s Act 10 legislation taking the teeth out of municipal unions, the Antigo Common Council Wednesday approved a new employee manual that will replace language that was previous subject to negotiations. On a 7-1 vote, aldermen inked the new 60-page booklet, which lays out everything from compensation and insurance coverage to rules of conduct and leaves of absence. Full Story: Antigo Daily Journal

Lake district backs plan to maintain walking trail

Members of the Inland Lake District Wednesday reviewed a new $10,000 line item for Spring Brook Trail maintenance and expansion before easily adopting an overall budget of $89,000. Sixteen residents of the Inland Lake District, which includes all voters and property owners within the city of Antigo, attended the session. There were also three non-voting members present.
