Antigo man jailed on drug count ordered held on $1,000 bond

Bail was set Wednesday at $1,000 cash for an Antigo man in whose vehicle police found a stash of more than a quarter-pound of marijuana. Riley J. Dahms, 19, of 620 Omega Circle is charged in Langlade County Circuit Court with multiple crimes — four for the July 24 incident in which he allegedly ran from police and the subsequent discovery of the drugs in his impounded vehicle and one for an alleged drug deal with an undercover informant on July 8. Celtic music back at park tonight when singer, fiddler present Irish entertainment

Celtic music returns to the City Park bandstand for the second time in four days as a part of a special “theme” week being presented by Music in the Park. On Monday, McGinnis Kitchen got rained out of the park and into the Antigo High School commons, where an excellent crowd enjoyed an evening of lively music by the kilt-drapped performers. Police arrest two on drug counts here

Antigo police nabbed two men on drug charges overnight, one after he was found “passed out” in his vehicle parked at a north side convenience store and the second after he fled from officers on foot following an attempted theft at a Hudson Street residence. The man found in his vehicle was a 31-year old rural Antigo resident. His apparent drug of choice was bath salts as two pipes commonly used to ingest the substance were found in his possession. White Lake board ratifies support pact

The White Lake board of education last week approved a base wage agreement with support staff, and discussed the need to improve its salary schedule to be more competitive when hiring new instructors. At its regular monthly session, the board approved a base wage agreement with the White Lake Educational Support Personnel Association that calls for a 2.07 percent increase for the 2013-14 year. At a meeting this morning, Rhonda Klement, right, coordinator of the Langlade County Fair, visited Phyllis Keelrowicz, who heads A&P Amusements that operates the midway, this morning. Keelrowicz and her family have run the traveling carnival that will roar to life later this afternoon and run through Sunday with a growing assortment of rides and amusements. Weekend bar fight lands three in jail

Three Kenosha residents were arrested and others may still be charged in connection with a fight with erupted at a White Lake tavern Saturday. The men were said to have been in the area for a camping trip when an altercation grew heated. Officials said several people who had been at the bar reported to have been punched at least once and others, multiple times. Full Story: Antigo Daily Journal

Four nabbed here on drug charges

A traffic stop south of Antigo early this morning turned up evidence of drug use including the discovery of marijuana, prescription pills and suspected bath salts. The powdered substance, which was scattered among a cache of paraphernalia including pipes and rubber hoses, a syringe and a digital scale, is being sent to the Wisconsin State Crime lab for further testing. Man charged in theft of drugs from area veterinary clinic

A former employee of the Antigo Veterinary Clinic made his first court appearance here Monday to face charges he stole drugs intended for animal use. Benjamin Blandin, 27, of Nobelsville, Ind. was allowed to post his own signature as bond in the case which also alleges he tried to hide the thefts by watering down the remaining drugs.
