Responsible to recruit, select and enroll children and families and maintain enrollment levels as prescribed by Head Start/Early Head Start Policies and Performance Standards, California State Funding Terms and Conditions, Community Care Licensing Title 22 & Title 5 to include obtaining and maintaining full enrollment in the assigned classrooms and/or center(s) throughout the year. Participates in the recruitment and enrollment process. 2. Works with parents to resolve children’s attendance problems. 3. Maintains confidentiality for all children, families, and staff by only releasing confidential information to CEDS authorized personnel. 4. In collaboration with the family, develop Family Partnership Agreement to assess family strengths and needs and provide referral and follow up with relevant community resources. 5. Enters and maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the family file and in the electronic database. 6. Document monthly contact via home visits, phone, group activity, or site visits to promote partnership and regular communication between center staff and families. 7. Maintain data records for children’s immunization, physical, dental and screenings, and other data as required to include entry into database and child’s files. 8. Enters and retrieves numerical and narrative data from an automated and/or manual system; reviews and interprets computer printouts, reports and information on computer screens. 9. Completes Federal and/or State reports as required. 10. Maintains compliance with Universal Precautions in the classroom or during home visits and administers first aid. 11. Reports all observed child injuries immediately to Center Director. 12. Prepare documents necessary to initiate, continue and modify eligibility status. 13. Assist families in the area of program governance. 14. Assist with crisis intervention and case conferencing as needed. 15. Develop and maintain a community resource binder to support family needs and child/family referrals. 16. Supports classroom team for breaks and absences in the classroom as needed. 17. Attend trainings, meetings, conferences and community collaborative meetings as required and be capable of transporting families for agency business in agency provided vehicles (clear driving records and agency driving authorization). 18. Works in collaboration with Family Education Specialist as assigned. 19. May be assigned to multiple centers. B. Other Job Specific Duties: 1. Maintains safe and functional work environment. 2. Must type 35 wpm or more The skills and willingness to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner Ability to communicate effective, both orally and in writing EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : The following requirements generally demonstrate possession of the minimum requisite knowledge and ability necessary to perform the duties of the position. • High School graduation or equivalent. Six semester units in the principles of social work, child development, counseling, and/or psychology or related courses • Three years experience in family social service setting, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services desired. • One year of general computer experience. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) capabilities are highly desired. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout. • Completion of a physical and substance abuse screening upon offer of employment. • Must be fingerprinted if required by funding source or state licensing and have such records filed with the State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. • Successful completion of TB screening upon employment and every three years thereafter. • Must have completed a First Aid/CPR Certificate or will obtain the certification within 90 days of employment.
