Planner/Estimator

Details: MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: Identifies, locates and tags equipment requested through the Equipment Removal Data System (ERDS) or Casualty Report (CASREP). Interfaces with requestor using electronic media to ensure removals of correct item. Validates requirements and verifies funding for all external requests for removals or cannibalizations. Keeps Operations and Maintenance Department Manager’s appraised of status of estimates and any problems encountered. Review all continuing task orders, reviewing all discrepancies found by inspectors, supervisors and managers which are designated for correction by the Maintenance Manager. Reviews costed out task orders and material utilized lists to monitor estimates. Maintains files of costed out task orders by job type for use when estimating similar jobs. Maintains records of ERDS, CASREP and Fleet stripping removals for each vessel. Track CASREP paybacks to ensure receipt and proper storage. Brief Management and COR weekly on status of removal requests, schedule for removal and status of funding. Shall be capable of assisting the Marine Inspectors on occasion when circumstances dictate. Work requires climbing vertical and inclined ladders and brief periods of strained position, such as kneeling, stooping and maneuvering in close quarters. May be exposed to sharp edges, falls, hazardous chemicals and conditions, poor illumination and inclement weather.
