The Information Security Manager is responsible for the following: Monitors the County information security environment on a continuous basis and identifies opportunities for facilitating continuous improvement and ensuring adequate protection on a continual basis. Manages the administration and maintenance of security systems, infrastructure, applications, devices, tools and software services. Manages and maintains user, technical and operational documentation relevant to the effective management of information security. Engages and collaborates with multiple third party service providers and vendors, as required, to address County information security requirements Manages the classification of County information assets and ensures that such classification is current and relevant to the needs of the County. Manages user identity and access relative to physical and logical access control for County information systems and facilities (including County Data Centers). Manages the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of security controls, systems development and testing relating to County applications, data, supporting infrastructure and technology services. Proactively assesses the vulnerability of County information systems and assets to unauthorized access from internal and external sources. Accountable to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and supports the optimization of overall strategy and governance of information security. Champions the integrity, confidentiality, and security of County information; Champions security awareness and training activities at all levels of the County hierarchy (including executives); Leads, designs and implements engagement of County employees to be security-smart. Monitors organizational compliance with information security policies, procedures, controls and applicable regulatory requirements. Periodically reviews overall progress of the County information security program delivery effort against defined objectives and expectations, and compiles/reports relevant to performance metrics. Initiates and thoughtfully resolves inherent challenges with the delivery of the overall information security programs, and escalates them appropriately duly required.
