Someone with prior experience as strategic buyer or commodity purchasing or as purchasing Manager from an automotive manufacturing setting should be able to hit the ground running. You would lead the effort in in procurement to manage costs in the assigned commodities with supply chain while implementing company purchasing policies and purchasing procedures for both commodity purchasing and strategic components. Warehouse Lead
Details: POSITION SUMMARY: Perform warehouse duties which facilitate the shipment and receipt of goods into the plant. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Organizes daily tasks through planning and asset management of receiving and shipping requirements Assigns tasks to warehouse support personnel. Ensure items are properly and accurately received, receiving documentation is correctly filled out and turned into the receiving clerk, and items are stored in correct location. Ensure items are shipped correctly and accurately, and shipping documentation is properly filled out. Maintains knowledge of requirements throughout the day to access changes of personnel duties. Develops a plan and follows up throughout the day to ensure all scheduled shipments, and receipts, are completed, and completed product is placed in its designated area. Communication Attends morning shipping/production meeting and shares information with fellow warehouse personnel. Brings up any concerns, problems, help required, questions, suggestions during that meeting. Uses daily shipping schedule as an aide for prepping and shipping orders. Communicates to warehouse team their assigned tasks. Work closely with Shipping Coordinator concerning deviations in the schedule, appointments, changes in the load, missed appointments, etc., and then communicates those changes to Plant Management, in cases where those changes affect completion of the assigned daily tasks. Communicates to Production Manager when loads are ready to ship (CP), to maintain a current shipping appointment document. It is expected that every load is shipped as scheduled. The Policy should be that no load is short shipped. No load should leave without all of the scheduled items. Plant management must be informed in this instance prior to completion of the loading process to afford time to rectify the situation. If a load is then determined not to be filled, then the Shipping Coordinator must be notified prior to the Driver leaving the dock. Responsible for checking messages on the Warehouse Phone, at least once in the morning and once in the afternoon, at a minimum. Ensures Carrier Deviation paperwork is properly filled out and turned in with the BOL, if necessary, to eliminate unnecessary chargebacks. Inventory Maintain correct inventory counts of both received materials and finished goods Ensure items are received accurately. Ensure raw materials are placed in their designated area and properly identified. Ensure Finish Goods are placed in their designated area and properly identified. Ensure correct items are being shipped and in correct amounts. Conduct random inventory counts throughout the week to verify counts. Lead periodic warehouse inventories. Tracks Warehouse supplies (Tape, shrink wrap, shipping pallets, banding, etc) and places reorders when required. Work Hours Work closely with Production Manager to develop coverage for both early receiving/shipping, as well as late shipments. Strive to always have one employee in the shipping area. Develop staggered break and lunch times to afford constant coverage for both receiving and shipping. Housekeeping and Safety Conduct the morning walk around each day. Be the role model for safety. Be attentive of warehouse personnel actions and ensure they conduct each task in a safe manner. Develop and ensure a warehouse cleaning schedule is implemented.
