Manufacturing Engineer

Details: General Summary: The manufacturing engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training. Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency. Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of team members. Assists general manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training. Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment. Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment. Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency. Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.

Safety Specialist

Details: General Summary: Performs a variety of Safety functions at a professional level focused in safety training, industrial hygiene and maintenance of safety equipment and documents. Functions as an employee advocate striving to continuously improve working conditions and compliance with applicable state and federal health and safety regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in development and implementation of training for new and existing employees regarding safe and proper use of equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, hand and power tools, scaffolding, and personal fall arrest systems. Maintains safety training records for all employees regarding hands on training and computer based training and notifies Managers/Supervisors of any updates. Schedule necessary training for powered industrial equipment, overhead cranes, rigging, scissors lifts, fire extinguishers, first aid/CPR/AED, LOTO assessments, confined spaces, hazard recognition, fall protection, NFPA 70E, PPE, respiratory fit-testing, hot-work, etc. Schedule and facilitate industrial hygiene activities and oversee the collection of samples and measurements of hazardous material. Completes annual PPE assessments and LOTO audits company wide. Maintain equipment utilized for the safety department such as sound monitoring devices, 4-gas meters, CO monitors, etc., ensuring proper certification, calibration, and training for personal that utilizes equipment. Conduct hands on training and orientation for newly hired and current necessary personnel in confined space entry, lockout/tagout, forklift safety, NFPA 70E, etc. Assist in facilitation of safety functions such as the Safety Blitz Week and other safety events. Schedule and maintain documentation of facility inspections including sprinkler systems, sprinkler alarm panels, fire extinguishers, fire doors, flammable storage areas, Participate in the Safety Committee. Maintain certificates of insurance for contractors/vendors of Crystal Finishing Systems and ensure all contractors and visitors have necessary safety orientation regarding safety expectations. Works with the department managers and supervisors to improve work environment and serve as an employee advocate. Assist in maintaining compliance with all state and federal laws and internal company policy and procedures. Presents recommendations for updates to various safety forms, documents, policies, and procedures as appropriate. Presents a professional image of Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc.
