Details: Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Technician II should be able to diagnose, disassemble and assemble, repair, rebuild, and adjust medium and heavy-duty trucks under minimal supervision. The complexity of jobs will increase with the progression of training and overall performance of the technician. Essential Responsibilities: • Perform oil changes and inspections in a timely manner • Install engines, transmissions, clutches, and other components • Submit complete technical reports and documentation as required by manufacturers in all components on all makes of trucks and trailers • Repair heavy duty engines including Caterpillar, Cummins and Paccar Truck engines, clutches, transmissions, differentials, power systems, cooling systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems or any other system used on medium and heavy duty trucks • Deal with customers in a diplomatic and courteous manner • Maintain good customer relations and performance standards • Other duties as assigned

Details: Manitowoc Cranes is hiring a Tester Rigger at its Cranes facility in Manitowoc, WI. The position will train on 1 st shift and then move to either 2 nd or 3 rd shift. Job Functions: • Work individually or in a small team to assist in rigging booms and operating cranes and company products under load. • Test all systems against company technical specifications. • Locate miscellaneous hardware. • Assist in the diagnosis and identification of malfunctions and deviations from specifications. • Obtain approval from supervision or higher rated tester riggers to make repairs or adjustments. • Perform corrective actions to bring products into compliance with quality standards and technical specifications. • Assemble crane components using drawings and blueprints. • Assist in rigging all model cranes and attachments (luffing jibs, maxers, etc.). • Perform hooking-on and set-up work. • Disassemble products, prepare for shipping and load on trucks and train flat bed cars. • Read and work from blueprints and schematics. • Assist in maintaining the flow of work through department. • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and records, ensuring paperwork follows product. • Operate small hand and power tools such as hammer, wrench (open and closed), pipe wrench, punch, screwdriver, torque wrench, file, metric and SAE, magnetic drill, hydraulic torque wrench, drill, grinder, and other hand and power tools. • Ensure production specifications and quality standards are met. • Identify and resolve testing problems with engineering. • Operate powered hand truck, single leg gantry crane, and jib hoist. • Receive Company certification to operate overhead cranes, jib hoists, overhead bridge cranes and powered industrial forklift. Perform daily inspections and operate, perform basic rigging, use of chains and slings for a jib hoist and use a battery magnet. • Math skills: perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions and read a ruler and measuring tape in standard and metric. • Use measuring devices such as scales, tape measure, calipers, thread gauge, torpedo level, and other precision instruments. • Use computer and company Oracle program to print drawings, look up processes, shortages, etc. • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. • Perform job functions in a safe manner. • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required, by company policy, for the job being performed. • Follow and comply with all safety regulations and practices. • Successfully complete all safety training required by the time constraints set by governmental regulations. • Know and follow established job specific and facility wide safety, health and quality procedures and rules. • Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received. • Bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those you can.
