Maintenance Reliability Engineer
Details: Specialty Chemical Company currently has a Maintenance Reliability Engineer opportunity located near New Orleans, Louisiana. The position is responsible for implementation and maintenance of the plant’s mechanical reliability program including scheduling, documentation and traceability, and procedure writing, management of the site’s PM programs, including documentation, and performing failure analysis on process equipment. Job Scope • Maintain the PM program and evaluate equipment before and after PM in order to determine issues, track the effectiveness of PM processes, and reconfigure existing processes to reduce downtime and maximize effectiveness and maintain compliance • Manages reliability improvement projects and develop reliability test plans that represent the expected life of and operational conditions • Perform failure analysis and development of recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and use failure analysis, and other types of root cause analysis in support of reliability • Identify, collect, analyze, and manage various types of data to minimize failures and improve performance • Analyzing equipment breakdowns and determining root cause and corrective measures • Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that could affect plant operations (quality, cost, or regulatory issues) • Assist in maintenance of PSM program to insure compliance related to mechanical or reliability components • Work with Maintenance QA/QC and provide technical expertise to maintenance and production on troubleshooting, repairs and equipment evaluation; track and document results. • Maintain piping specification, valve specification, gasket specification, and fixed equipment including heat exchangers/pressure vessels, Boilers, PSV's, thermal oxidizers, etc. Candidate Profile • BS in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering, 5+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment • API certification highly desired API 510, 570, or 653 • Knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and regulatory compliance • Knowledge of risk analysis tools and techniques and risk based inspections and ASME code • Demonstrate knowledge of PSM, MOC and PHA processes • Demonstrated understanding of reliability and design techniques and failure analysis • Proven record of accomplishment in Preventive and Reliability Based Asset Management • Budgeting and accounting skills necessary to effectively manage projects • Training using probability and statistical tools to analyze equipment lifecycle, conduct hypothesis testing, understand appropriate statistical models, tolerance and regression analysis.
