Supervises the utilization of materials to assure an appropriate amount of parts are available to maintain smooth production flow; identifies wasteful practices and methods; reports any problems/concerns with viable solutions to the Manager, Production; and, reports suggestions recommended by associates for procedure change, etc. Promotes and supports the company's efforts in associate involvement concepts, and "open door" communications through the development and or implementation of various programs. Promotes commitment to quality through attitude, behavior, communication, and development/implementation of programs and activities. Communicates/updates shift management of daily problems and concerns, identifying areas needing attention to ensure the continuity of the operation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree with 5 years of warehouse experience required. Works with D.E. Group to incorporate new product development and improvements. Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout day. Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds as well as occasional lifting of objects 25 to 50 pounds. Pay Rate: $15 - $18 an hour MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.- Be proactive with repairs to minor electrical and mechanical machine issues.- Assist in preventative maintenance of all machines and auxiliary equipment.- Assist will all operator functions including roll changes, machine adjustments, area clean up, weighing scrap, banding pallets, quality testing requirements, operating machine through break times, and short restroom breaks, etc. Should be capable of backing up all operator responsibilities.- Assist in building overall skill base of the department by mentoring operators and techs.- Communicate within the group to include Techs and Operators as to what occurred during the shift and possible fixes. Must be able to anticipate things that will come up after shift change. Communicate all shift activities verbally, at supervisor Process Control Meetings (PCS) and through documenting with visual management and shift logs.- Be predictive with process and mechanical assessments to reduce unscheduled downtime with rush W.O. and maintenance.- Responsible for informing maintenance on all steps taken in root cause analysis of troubleshooting process or mechanical issues through work order systems. QUALIFICATIONS- Technical and mechanical knowledge of bag machines - Bag making and film handling fundamentals- Solid verbal and written communication skills- Mechanical aptitudeCOMPETENCIES- Must be a self starter with solid initiative- Must have solid organizational skills and good follow up- Represent a high standard for attendance - Strong coaching ability - Ability to work under high pressure environment- Must be able to work well in a team environment or individually if called upon- Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential- Demonstrates organizational skills- Teaching ability- Knowledge of Extrusion, Printing, Slitting, Lamination and Converting Processes- Read dimensional graphic templates in both metric/standard and apply to finished product- Basic computer skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Required to stand, walk, bend, use hands to grip, handle, or feel objects- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs Work Schedule is a 2-2-3 rotation5:00am-5:00pm and 5:00pm - 5:00am
