Field commission and train customers on proper utilization and maintenance of Top Drive and related equipment. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on control systems and PLC’s. Perform detailed inspections and provide repair recommendations. Perform service and maintenance on the installed Top Drive Drilling systems. Properly maintain and utilize Multi-meter, Oscilloscope, Megohmmeter, and Process meter for testing equipment. Inventory control of field equipment. Maintain compliance with safety standards, regulations, reporting, and certifications. Perform proactive safety measures as necessary. Complete required paperwork, documentation and billing accurately and timely. Promote customer relationships and field sales of CANRIG products and services. Able to work efficiently with minimum supervision Other duties as required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS 2 + years proven experience working with Canrig equipment or equivalent. Prior working experience with computer hardware and software. Working knowledge of Excel and Windows based software and hardware. Role Summary/Purpose Essential Responsibilities Plan the testing of systems software, analyze requirements and design, develop software unit and subsystem tests for real-time acquisition control subsystems and design and maintain test infrastructure. Work closely with systems teams in requirements gathering and software design for testability. Manage testing design synergy across subsystems and multi-generation product releases. Lead the testing teams through the entire design cycle including requirements generation, design and implementation, verification & validation as the key technical mentor. Design and build strong testing infrastructure to minimize dependency on hardware availability. Drive strong focus on continuous integration, testing coverage and automation. Interact with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms. Leverage DFR for software, Agile and Lean software development methodologies to drive reliability upstream into the product development life cycle. Supervise 0-10 employees. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering required. Four (4) years of experience in a related occupation, including three (3) years of experience developing software and software tests for complex systems or computerized products and leading software test teams in regulated industry (medical, automotive, avionics) required. Position requires some experience with all of the following skills: product development and testing, related to safety-related medical device development; software development cycle, test automation; requirements and test development for software in regulated industry; object oriented design methodology; C/C++ ; and Configuration management tools.
