Electronic Security Technician

Details: Position Summary : The function of the Electronic Security Technician is to effectively represent the Company, within the targeted sales area of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This representation shall be one of integrity, using proper etiquette and communications practices. The purpose of this position is to install and test electronic security systems including Video Surveillance, Electronic Access Control, Time and Labor Management (TLM) Systems, and all related electronic equipment in commercial and industrial environments and to provide excellent customer service to our clients. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The principle duties and responsibilities are to fully manage the implementation, sub-contractor coordination, end user training and end user relationships of Electronic Security Systems sold by the company. Implementation will include the installation of servers, network and data equipment, field devices, and from time to time cable infrastructure. This position will require becoming factory trained and certified on select products sold by the company. The position requires the ability to trouble shoot and service the Electronic Security Systems sold by the company and existing systems the company may choose to assume service of. The position may from time to time, require assisting with engineering duties which may include: bidding projects, assisting with the selling process, and training other technical staff on the product lines. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Other essential functions required for this position include: Install and wire specific Electronic Security System and TLM devices. Understand proper cable installation and testing methods. Be capable of testing and troubleshooting electronic devices. Have a medium to high level understanding of data and network architecture. Have a medium level of server configuration. Understand and know how to use multi meters, hand tools, and power tools. Be willing to become certified and to work off of ladders and high lifts. Work Relationships and Scope: This position interacts daily with internal and external customers. Position requires a high degree of organizational skills and accuracy as well as excellent communication skills. The expectation is that the candidate will become an integral part of the the team by bringing excellent relationship building skills to the table with the goal of winning new business and retaining our current customer base. Accountable for execution and implementation of the sourcing and supplier management strategies utilizing cross-functional strategic sourcing teams (made up of Business Unit Product Managers, Purchasing Managers, Engineers, Operations Managers, Quality Managers and Buyers). Facilitate activities focusing on the localization strategies of our global supply base. Manage strategic interaction with key suppliers in the commodity space. Key responsibilities: Develop the sourcing strategy for assigned commodities. Develop and refine the sourcing strategy (with guidance from the Strategic Sourcing Managers and Director) using input from the sourcing team and key global/regional business leaders within the business units. The sourcing strategy will drive the continuous improvement of Rockwell’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the assigned commodities. Drive implementation of the sourcing strategy for assigned commodities. Once a sourcing strategy has been developed, the Commodity Manager will communicate, monitor and aggressively manage business unit compliance with the strategy. The Commodity Manager will also establish working relationships with other functions (e.g. engineering, procurement, operations, marketing, and quality assurance) within the business units, bringing a strategic sourcing perspective to all key processes. On an ongoing basis, the Commodity Manager will remain current on supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing. Responsible for Global Supplier Management. On an ongoing basis, the Commodity Manager will monitor and evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, lead time) of all suppliers. Conduct regular strategic business reviews with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of the supply base. Measure and track business unit performance within each commodity. The Commodity Manager will be responsible for monthly reporting to senior management on key performance indicators within the supply chain. These KPI’s may include savings, quality, delivery, lead time, market trends, etc. Identify and implement Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction opportunities for assigned commodities. Within the business unit, the Commodity Manager will champion annual productivity improvements by leading internal and joint supplier/unit teams pursuing TCO reduction opportunities in alignment with the sourcing strategy (e.g. lowering inventory levels, increasing yields, improving supplier operations, demand management, improving supply chain flexibility, etc.). Identify and implement best practices within assigned commodities. Manage major product obsolescence / end of life issues for assigned commodities. Monitor supplier/commodity risk, and work on risk mitigation plan development and implementation where required. Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (state regulations, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
