Job Duties: When delivering to VBCA customers, drivers must rotate and put away products in a timely fashion as to not fall behind according to the schedule created by the Transportation Manager. This requires a driver to be able to lift 80 pounds repetitively throughout the shift and hand upload up to 40,000 pounds per shift. Drivers must also be able to correctly complete all required paperwork including logs, trip reports, inspection reports, monthly hourly summary sheets, returns, and credit slips. Drivers are responsible for delivering the correct amount of product and signing a correct bill of lading or invoice to be returned to dispatch after each shift. A driver may also be responsible for collecting payment from a COD customer in the form of a check or cash, and returning that payment to the proper location upon return from their route. Drivers are responsible for assisting in fueling tractors and trailers, and turning in all fuel receipts upon return from their route. A driver must be polite and offer good customer service at all times. A driver must communicate effectively with dispatch at all times informing them of any problems including delays and damaged, refused, or missing product. Key Results Areas and Benchmarks: • Process Improvements- Tracked each period. • Various general observations- Attendance, punctuality, efficiency, ability to work well with co-workers, and ability to take direction from supervisors. • Each employee is reviewed annually by department supervisor. • Drivers are eligible to earn a daily incentive of $16.00 per day for correctly completing all job duties.
