Senior Plant Accountant
Details: The Sr. Plant Accountant is responsible for general accounting duties for the Fort Atkinson facility which may include journal entries, analysis, reconciliation, financial statements, and reporting. MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts; prepare ongoing monthly and year-to-date budget analysis for management review, analysis and decision making. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate monthly closing. Prepare all standard month-end journal entries for both facilities, review all costing runs, and work closely with corporate SAP team to validate system data. Review and approve, or correct, payables within approval limits. Supervise staff involved in payroll processing and accounts payable to include hiring, training, developing, and terminating. Participate in a variety of audits, including financial and inventory, by collecting required documentation, performing physical counts, and other activities as directed. Provide back-up for other accounting roles such as payroll processing and fixed asset accounting as needed. Prepare a variety of routine and specialized reports for management for use in analyzing efficiencies and profitability or as required for customer use. Support factory continuous improvement by means of providing timely tracking mechanism to capture cost savings by project Participate in the monthly bridge analysis in an effort to identify deviations in actual performance versus forecast and/or standard Provide monthly summary of factory cost variances to identify root cause of labor, material usage and overhead variances Participate in quarterly product cost reviews with Cost Accounting Manager to identify possible cost changes Perform other duties as assigned.
