The client is in need of qualified NOC technicians with DSL/NOC experience to augment their current staff in the Broadband Maintenance Center to offset increased call volume being caused by storm damage and increased customer usage of their broadband network. The candidates will be responsible for monitoring the network and responding to alarms which affect multiple customers. If an alarm occurs the NOC technician is initially responsible for trying to correct the problem using remote tools but if that does not work out then the NOC technician dispatches a field technician to the site. The NOC and Field technician work together isolating the problem and take necessary corrective action. If the problem cannot be resolved it is escalated to the NTAC for further investigation. During this period the NOC technician is responsible for recording the activities in our client?s on-line ticketing system. The equipment being monitored is from a variety of vendors which includes: DSLAM's, Adtran 3000/5000's, Calix CA7's and Lucent Stingers. This is all broadband transmission equipment. Preference will be given to candidates possessing Adtran 3000/5000, Calix CA7 and Lucent Stinger experience. However, candidates with transport experience in a NOC environment will also be given strong consideration. Details: The Daily Advertiser, a Gannett Co., Inc. company, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the GM/Production in various administrative tasks which includes the gathering of production data, monitoring records, and completing reports. Job duties include: Web Portal Entries: Accurately enters data from departmental reports by specified deadlines. Newsprint Consumption Reports: Completes data entry for newsprint consumption reports. Tracks Departmental Employee Time Records: Tracks employee attendance including time off – both paid and unpaid. Monitors the time keeping system (Kronos) for early/late clock-ins and missing records. Assists with the gathering of production data: Tracks production data such as press starts and stops, page flow, waste numbers, and truck out times. Processes the Daily Mail Reports: Produces the labels used for all copies that are mailed and completes the paperwork that is sent to the Post Office. Assists the Insert Receiving Clerk with receiving inserts and other material, placing the material in the proper location and completing all paperwork. Experience needed: High School diploma or equivalent. Good computer skills. Experienced utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to type quickly and enter data accurately. Ability to schedule, organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. Strong decision making and problem solving skills. Collaborates and communicates well across departments. Knowledge of postal requirements, regulations, and deadlines is a plus.
