Details: The Site Supervisor is responsible for all the local operations in the La Crosse area for package and freight delivery. An ideal candidate for this role will have experience in the transportation or small package delivery business and possess excellent planning, time management and decision making skills. This is an extremely fast paced position with ever changing priorities with a number of deadlines that have to be met on a daily basis. This is a very hand's on leadership role. Applicants must have a proven leadership track record in their previous roles. Role Qualifications The employee is responsible for making decisions based on established policies and procedures. Has the authority to make decisions on customer issues and the information given by the customer and driver. Takes any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position and operates within good, sound business practices and judgment. Actions must be consistent with established company policy, procedures, directives and systems. Position Responsibilities Acts as primary contact with drivers and management to determine resource constraints and develops plans to achieve customers' needs. Enters specific delivery orders based on requested customer delivery times/dates. Receives (by telephone) requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers. Makes quotations on standard items, enters orders, and relays pertinent order information to customers. Coordinates with other departments to provide service to customers. Ensures maximize driver productivity, efficiencies, timeliness and customer service. Performs radio dispatching operating communication instruments and coordinating the overall Company’s scheduled service delivery system. Prepares paperwork (manifests, bills of lading, copies of delivery forms, and returns) to be filed/processed accordingly and as per customer. Assigns pick up and delivery orders of customer materials and ensures all deadlines and services are met. Resolves questions directly so that customer and driver receives prompt satisfaction. Maintains liaison with other departments for order completion. Responsible for coordination and control of the handling, storage and flow of product through warehouse area. Trains warehouse personnel to ensure well-coordinated loading, unloading, sorting and staging of product. Adjusts schedules as necessary in both shipping and receiving areas, responsible for product inventory accuracy and productivity levels. Reviews daily inventory of product in warehouse against anticipated delivery product to minimize amount of handling and damage to finished product. Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to load scans, receiving scans, and accounts for all shortages or overages.. Has knowledge of customers, customer’s products, company services, pricing, delivery times, various marketing promotional services, and similar data, as required. Be familiar with all the available resources within your direct station and utilize the knowledge base of your colleagues. Performs warehouse sort duties as assigned. Essential Functions: Record all data necessary to produce expected service and/or design results, including sizing and illustrations. Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing. Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, and conventional milling and lathe work, using various engine lathes (e.g. horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills).
