We are currently looking to add an experienced automotive technician, express lube technician, and detailer to ensure customer satisfaction. Experienced Automotive Technicians are tasked with repairing the most challenging and time-sensitive problems that vehicles have when they arrive at the service department. DUTIES OF TECHNICIAN: -Conferring with customers and service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work needed to be performed and future repair requirements. -Performing quality inspections of vehicle repairs prior to returning the vehicle to the customer. -Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. -Communicating directly with the service advisor, so customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. If additional repairs are needed, provide an accurate estimate of additional time needed to complete repairs. -Test-driving vehicles, and testing components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices. -Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications. QUALIFICATIONS OF TECHNICIAN: -Must have some level of instructor led automotive training (e.g. high school automotive, vocational, college, technical school, OEM, etc.) -Must have working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc. -Must have valid driver’s license, and clean driving record DUTIES OF EXPRESS LUBE TECHNICIANS: -Making sure moving parts are lubricated if needed. -Injecting grease into units, such as springs, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand-or compressed air-powered grease gun. -Inspecting fluid level of steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions differentials, rear axle housings and shackles. -Checking air pressure of tires, adding water to the radiator, testing the battery, replacing oil and air filters, and spraying springs with lubricant. -Draining oil and refilling crankcase with right amount of new lubricant. -Working alongside a skilled technician to learn how to perform quality vehicle service maintenance repairs. QUALFIED LUBE TECHNICIANS: -Some level of instructor led automotive training (e.g. high school automotive, vocational, college, technical school, OEM, etc.) -ASE certifications a plus -A high level of motivation and demonstrated ability to learn and succeed -Valid in-state driver’s license with good driving record DUTIES OF AUTOMOTIVE DETAILERS: -Clean, wax, polish, and refurbish old and new vehicles and parts -Maintain the standard and quality of service of the organization -Understand and deliver to the specific requirements of the organization -Inspect the vehicles thoroughly for pre-delivery -Maintain the proper function of all service tools and equipment -Report any damage to the supervising manager -Coordinate work with team members QUALIFIED AUTOMOTIVE DETAILERS: -Previous detailer experience preferred -Must be willing to work in a fast paced environment -Must have experience in quality customer service -Have a positive attitude -Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record Bergstrom Automotive offers competitive wages and benefits. In addition, a truck driver is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (“VCRs”) on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner. Principal Responsibilities • Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports. • Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor. • Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility. • Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely manner. • Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures. • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste. • Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies. • Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip. • Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required. • Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner. • Follow all required safety policies and procedures. • Actively participate in the Company’s ReSOP program. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
