Credit and Collection Specialist

Details: This position provides customer-focused service in establishing and maintaining accounts. This position works to ensure the timely collection and turnover of the accounts receivable asset, with focus on solving and eliminating problems that slow down the customer's accounts payable process. 10% to15% Compile, verify, and justify claims and credit memo requests and supporting documentation to validate request for credit. Process credits based on approval parameters and submit to Account Maintenance staff for processing 10% to 50% Analyze credit applications, supporting credit reports, and financial statements to establish and validate credit limits for new and existing accounts and make any necessary adjustments which will minimize risk to SWF while maximizing sales. 10% to 50% Analyze new orders on hold based on account balance, past due status, and payment history to minimize risk to SWF. Decide which orders to release based on risk analysis, payment history, and SWF guidelines 35% Contact customers for payment of past due invoices to formulate and implement plans to eliminate past due account status. Negotiate with customers plans of action for repaying delinquent accounts to minimize bad debt. (workouts). Prepare 10-day demand letters and other advanced collection techniques. Transfer troublesome accounts to a senior credit/collection analyst before 120 days old. Provide back-up support when other credit associates are out of the office. 5% Provide sales representatives with pertinent information to aid them in providing exceptional service to their customer base. 5% Misc: Respond to outside requests for references on your accounts, following legal disclosure guidelines. Prepare monthly statements for mailing to customers to assure accurate information is received, which will facilitate prompt payments are received. Responsibilities include: To perform physical and clerical warehouse duties such as the picking and verifying orders, loading trucks, shipping of materials, receiving, storing and put away. Prior warehouse & forklift experience a plus. Must be able to lift 75# on a frequent basis. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
