Volt is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to work onsite with our client in a contingent position expected to last approximately one year. Within this role, you will provide quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams, manufacturing engineering, supply management, and manufacturing and/or distribution organizations to assure the product quality meets the customers' expectations. This includes the application of quality tools within the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) and Customer Support Process (CSP). DUTIES WILL INCLUDE: Participate in Design Process and Assembly Reviews (DPARs), print reviews, and design reviews of new products. Monitor and facilitate quality activities for part approval, verify manufacturing processes (control plans, assembly instructions) and confirm process capability. Investigate unit quality related issues and concerns related to product and processes, gathers and analyzes data, resolves/facilitates resolution and implements corrective action. Engage in applying/leading Quality tools on Customer Support Process (CSP), Continuous Improvement (CI), and/or Value Improvement (VI) teams. Investigate product quality problems, determine root cause for quality problems, gather and analyze data and implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim. Assist in identifying, communicating and resolving supplier quality problems. Conduct audits of new and existing suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and adherence to accepted quality practices. Provide training and/or supervision to co-workers, inspectors, technicians and auditors on quality procedures and tools to monitor critical processes to assure consistent control and/or to implement cost-saving ideas to improve our products to meet customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Other duties may be assigned: • Repair & Maintenance o Performs complex repairs on products (often open case repairs). These are repairs beyond simple and minor cosmetic repairs or component replacements. o Performs electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair of assigned products. o Ability to utilize manufacturer service manuals and documentation to provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause and repair while working independently. o Assess assigned products and prepare written estimates for repairs. o Use of advanced test equipment for products assigned. o Repair purchased and rental products. o Generates Fee for Service (FFS) work. o Effectively perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, calibrations, PM’s, and equipment cleaning and decontamination. • Present & Train o Performs “engineering” in-services. An engineering in-service is defined as a technical breakdown of any Hill-Rom product and communication of technical performance of the product. o Serves as a role model/trainer for other technicians in terms of technical skills and delivering customer service. o Facilitate customer meetings for assigned products/projects. • Safety & Compliance o Attend monthly safety meetings o Identify safety concerns and correct as necessary o Demonstrate a proactive approach to safety awareness and compliance o Successfully complete all required safety and compliance learning modules on a timely basis o Maintains a clean and safe work environment including 5S activities. o Identify potential safety issues on products and/or repair procedures and provide feedback to management team. Responsible for ensuring others are completing projects within safety requirements. This includes coordinating completion of safety training for temporary employees and/or job specific requirements. o Comply with all Hill-Rom and customer policies including Quality System ISO Standards and other applicable standards such as JACHO. o Attend specialized OEM factory training and/or attend Hill-Rom provided training o Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory policies. o Complete all medical testing in a timely manner. • Project Management o Schedule, coordinate and complete SMALL to MEDIUM size projects under direction of the Service Operations Manager. Ensure internal/external resources are completing project work and documentation in accordance with Company policies and procedures. • Customer Service o Ensure continuous effective relationships with both internal and external customers including staff members. o Support and understand compliance with all customer service and contractual expectations. o Effectively lead groups or teams in problem identification and problem solving. o Assist sales personnel when needed. o Collaborates and communicates effectively with sales, co-workers, other departments and customers. • Participates in the on-call rotation to provide 24/7coverage. Supervisory responsibilities include: • This job has no supervisory responsibilities however does require leadership, guidance, and mentorship of fellow Service Center staff. Includes product expertise and input to management, cross training, parts management, and cross functional coordination with various Hill-Rom departments.
