Coordinate (either directly or via the customer) the involvement of any necessary outside agencies and include receipt of any necessary document approvals, coordination of on-site inspection visits, etc. Assist Manager of Engineering Services with special projects including Engineering process improvements, customer design services, etc. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Welding: Should have a basic understanding of the welding processes utilized at Silvan. This would include application of processes, process characteristics, and representation of necessary welds with appropriate symbols. Materials: Must have solid knowledge of materials utilized at Silvan. Selection of optimum materials, knowledge of material specifications and part numbers, and ability to accurate assign necessary materials to relevant engineering documents. Fabrication: A fundamental knowledge of Silvan’s fabrication methods is required. Basic capabilities and limitations of shop equipment should be utilized to determine to most effective means of product fabrication. Code Requirements: Continued emphasis shall be placed on the development of ASME Section VIII-1 Code knowledge. From this fundamental base, the Design Engineer must be able to accurately interpret and comply with a wide variety of customer and outside agency specifications. Computer Knowledge: Must be fluent with basic operation of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Must also become proficient with the use of pressure vessel calculation software. Effective use of corporate computer system is also required. Calculations: Must have basic knowledge of statics and be able to complete appropriate design calculations. Commercial quote work: Reviews all incoming quotes, searches for duplicate requests and existing policies, separates the attachments into lines of business, logs into quote log and processes them into workflow. Mailroom work: Opens, sorts and distributes mail. Prepares all outgoing mail, certified, registered, overnight mail and UPS packages for daily delivery. Orders supplies and maintains inventory control levels for office and building supplies. Reviews invoices and prepares bills for approval as required. Open Role: An exciting new opportunity is available for a strategic, highly motivated professional to join our team as the St. Jacobs Business Manager located at our DeForest, WI location. High level summary of accountabilities include: Define the global strategic direction for the St. Jacobs brand and product offering. Strategically manage the product portfolio including sire acquisition. Manage product lifecycle, pricing, demand forecasting, excess and obsolete inventory to maximize profitability on a monthly basis. Work closely with the Global Dairy Brand Manager, Regional Brand Managers and Supply Chain to resolve product availability issues. Consistent sales organization interaction for continued product line growth. Work with the global and regional communications teams to develop and launch highly creative and effective tools and templates to differentiate and promote St. Jacobs products from competitors' offerings in the marketplace. Target tools and campaigns to specific customer segments. Develop and implement product training and other education materials and events to ensure customer-facing personnel can speak confidently and fluently about the St. Jacob's product offering. Full P&L responsibility The Candidate: The successful candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in business, agriculture-related field, or alternative equivalent work experience Experience in sire acquisition and/or knowledge of genetically superior Holstein sires Proven ability to develop and manage a brand including marketing, positioning, pricing, promotion, product development and product management Experience in budget management Microsoft Office Suite software experience The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to build consensus, think creatively to solve problems and confident presenting information to audiences of varying sizes.
