TA Temp Courier - BATON ROUGE SC - 32 Hours Variable Schedule

Details: The Courier is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of water, soil and air samples to and from the laboratory. Maintain the quality, hold time, and turnaround time objectives of the lab. Prepare and deliver bottle orders to clients following the SOP of the lab. Receive and stock all sample control supplies, prepare and ship sample kits and perform sampling events as needed. Dispose of samples and hazardous waste according to guidelines and carry out any other duties assigned by the department manager. 1. Perform all duties as outlined in the SOP for Couriers. 2. Pick up and deliver samples, bottle orders and report to the laboratory for sign-in and analysis. 3. Count the number of samples when receiving them from clients to make sure that the Chain of Custody and samples match. Verify that samples are not broken or damaged. 4. Receive and sign the Chain of Custody. 5. Ensure that client signs, dates, and records time on the Chain of Custody when releasing samples. 6. Transport samples on ice from client site to the lab, or from our lab to a sub- contracted laboratory. 7. Unload samples and inspect for damage or violated hold times to maintain sample integrity. 8. Interact with Project Managers and clients appropriately and professionally. 9. Follow directions or use maps to locate client offices/sites as specified in the courier request form. 10. Communicate effectively with the courier coordinator about the courier schedule. 11. Record in the courier log book the time that courier arrives to the site and time leaving from the site for all the pick ups and deliveries. 12. Maintain records for the vehicle maintenance and driving miles; turn it in at the end of each month. 13. Restock supplies when received so supplies are available to employees when needed. 14. Verify the validity and completeness of all bottle orders being delivered. This verification is done prior to leaving for delivery. 15. Perform duties in accordance with Section 14 of the Transportation and Fleet Safety of the Corporate Safety Manual. 16. Comply with the Company's "Driver Evaluation and Qualification Policy". Education: * High school diploma or equivalent Licensure/Certificate/Registration: * Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate is required for shipping hazardous chemicals within 90 days of date of hire. * A valid state issued driver's license to drive delivery vehicles is required as an employee with driving responsibilities. Training: * Complete training on safe/defensive driving practices upon hire; refresher training is required once every three years. Details: Director of Nursing Job Summary: Manages the Nursing Department with high professional and personal standards. Responsible to the Administrator of the facility and works in conjunction with the managing company nursing coordinator. Sees that a nurse accompanies all physicians making rounds and that all orders are carried out. Supervise all nursing activities not limited to reviewing the MARs, overseeing lab policies and any changes in resident status. Has an assigned charge nurse for nursing supervision and resident care when out of the facility. Promotes improvement in nursing care. Makes rounds on all residents daily. Coordinates nursing service with other departments. Maintains accurate reporting and recording according to policies and procedures, evaluates and makes recommendations for improvements for the welfare of the resident. Sees that supplies are available in proper quantities, that equipment is available, in good condition, and that personnel using such supplies and equipment know where such are to be found and know the proper care and use. Details: SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES This position has direct distribution responsibility for all Home Delivery, Single Copy or HD/SC combination and reports to the Distribution Manager. Responsibility will be for a defined geographic area. This includes home delivered, single copy, blue chip, education, and non-daily circulation from USCP and USAT along with a number of third party distribution partner contracts,. The District Manager may also receive work assignments within many areas of the distribution function, which may include transportation, customer service, and redelivery operations. The primary role of the District Manager is to achieve company objectives and oversee an independent contractor carrier force. The District Manager will also contribute to growing circulation volumes and revenue within the assigned district, by ensuring customer/subscriber service and satisfaction levels are met or exceeded. This position works part of the time in an office or distribution center and majority of the time within the assigned newspaper district or distribution area. The successful candidate will work flexible hours recruiting, negotiating and maintaining contracts with independent contractors for defined geographical areas. They will also split and realign delivery areas, manage dealer relations, collections/returns, deliver open / down routes and monitor contract performance. Manage financial and distribution performance metrics for their defined geographic area. Provide input to budgets for the area. Ensure the efficient distribution of products through initiation of route restructuring, consolidation, splits or other means designed to maximize volumes while limiting expense exposure. Work with other District Managers in the same geographic areas to improve efficiencies. This position will insure that contractors adhere to their contractual obligation for customer service, complaint resolution, timely account payment, reporting, compliance of all local, state and federal laws. Overall responsibility for insuring product position, rack sales effectiveness, point of purchase material application, timely reporting, accounts receivable and adjustments. Manage product integrity (ABC/insert verification), field verification of TMC, bonding, and letters of credit. Managing drop times, delivery sequence/schedules, and contingency planning. This position promotes customer satisfaction, and is responsible for ensuring that SOP's/contracts for customer service, complaint resolution, reporting, compliance of all local, state, federal, and Gannett regulations and policies are established and implemented consistently across the region in the delivery area. Strong management and training experience, good math and computer skills. Will manage home delivery and single copy operations in terms of total number of subscribers, number of wholesalers and collections. Will also be responsible for expense management in terms of delivery expense, subsidy and part-time staffing hours. ­ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE A minimum of two years of supervisory, distribution and/or sales experience is required. A high school education is necessary; a college education will help in advancement opportunities. A good motor vehicle report, valid driver’s license, dependable automobile, and liability insurance are necessary for this position. Distribution or circulation experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS 1. Solid working knowledge in operations, systems, and sales 2. Ability to work as part of a team, with minimal daily supervision and high degree of self-motivation. 3. Strong PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications. 4. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 5. Strong leadership ability to lead a mixed workforce of employees and independent contractors spread out across several different markets 6.
