Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Summary: Support Airgas’ ongoing efforts to comply with federal government regulations, safety/OSHA regulation and customer questionnaires and other compliance documentation as required by Airgas and their customers. Contribute to the administration, coordination, and reporting to support the conflict minerals (Dodd-Frank Act) reporting requirements relevant to sustainability efforts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with comprehending, complying and processing compliance information as it relates to federal government compliance, conflict minerals documentation and third party questionnaires based upon customer inquiries and requirements. This includes but is not limited to:  Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR and DFAR),  Federal government’s System for Award Management (SAM) – CAGE codes/DUNS  Buy American Act,  Free Trade Act,  NAFTA  Federal specialty metals regulations  Federal domestic and international labor regulations  Government property management regulations  International trade laws and treaties  Defense weapons regulations  Federal information technology regulations  Dodd-Frank Act  EPA and OSHA Regulations  Federal Ethics Regulations  Executive ownership information and Executive earnings reporting  Financial, accounting process, human resource and tax/revenue information  Obtain compliance information requirements from government websites and coordinate the collection of this information in order to respond to customer certifications/questionnaires. Work with all levels of personnel throughout Airgas to procure this information. Maintain understanding of the conflict mineral rules and staying current on developments in this area to ensure Airgas remains compliant to all filing and reporting requirements. Establish and maintain a database of information from suppliers regarding conflict minerals in their products – both for their overall product offering and for specific product inquiries. This may include helping to gather information on Third Party solutions. Assist in the preparation of Customer responses to product inquires on conflict minerals, to include monitoring, tracking and providing the necessary response for conflict mineral inquiries received in the general email box. Contribute to the research efforts of gathering internal information to maintain compliance for customer requirements in online sites and other formats as required, to include customer and product research in SAP. Monitor the information provided by Airgas business units to ensure completeness and accuracy related to customer requirements prior to addressing compliance documentation. Assist in the creation of compliance training programs based on relevant Airgas policies and procedures for Airgas University. REPORTINGRELATIONSHIPS: Oversees thenursing staff at the Health Center. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: Supervisory Responsibilities Makes daily work assignments. *Directs the work of employees. Schedules lunch and rest breaks Authorizes early departure from work. Authorizes overtime. Reassigns employees from one area to another area as facility needs dictate. Prepares written evaluations of assigned employees. Enforces facility policies with authority to issue Disciplinary Action Reports as needed. Authority to suspend employees for rules violation. Initials time records to authorize variances. Interviews applicants that will be assigned to his/her area of responsibility. Receives and handles employee complaints. *Participates in training programs and assists in orientation of new staff. Plans, organizes, directs, supervises, and evaluates all nursing services provided in the facility to achieve desired clinical and financial outcomes. Ensures that facility is in compliance with all regulatory requirements and Center standards. Ensures physicians make visits as required. Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing are available for the delivery of the prescribed resident/patient care. Completes rounds of the facility at least daily to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations. Ensures each resident’s/patient’s RAI/IPOC process is carried out on a timely basis. Is responsible for recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling, and personnel issues in the nursing department. Ensures the maintenance of licensure status for all nursing employees. Manages the nursing department budget. Works with regional personnel to continuously improve the quality of resident/patient care. Coordinates Infection Control, Performance Improvement, and other concurrent review functions of the facility. Represents the facility in various professional and community activities. Participates in marketing planning, activities, and evaluation. Treats all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy. Ensures customer service standards for the nursing department. Ensures nurses administer discipline fairly and according to the handbook. Ensures nurses prepare the written evaluations as required. *Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and act in accordance with Center Health Services, Inc.’s Corporate Compliance Program. *Attends and participates in in-service training, performance improvement (“PI") committees and other meetings as scheduled and directed. Safety Knows and follows facility rules. Follows facility dress and hygiene policies. *Demonstrates proper use of equipment. Reports equipment needs or repairs. Follows facility smoking policies. Reports and documents any incidents or accidents of residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate facility personnel. Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment to Supervisor. *Performs duties, which may include transportation of residents, as assigned in Facility Disaster Plan. Uses required protective equipment. Follows infection control standards, policies and procedures. Resident Rights Knows Resident Rights. Helps the residents/patients exercise and/or protect their rights. Reports resident/patient complaints to management. Maintains confidentiality of resident/patient information. HIPAA Follows and adheres to Center’s policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information. Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks. (Applies only if position requires access to PHI under Role Based Access Grid.)
