Details: Basic Function: The Production Planner is responsible for developing a production plan to satisfy customer demand, while carrying minimum effective inventory. The position is responsible for providing the plant with a production plan that is consistent with plant capacity and sales forecasts. The planner is responsible for determining the necessary inventory levels to meet both service and inventory targets. Sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans. Major Duties: • Manage and develop run strategy of assigned products, evaluating best service/cost alternative and align system parameters to reflect decision. • Utilize C/D ratio, determine constraints and initiate resolution steps with cross functional areas. • Coordinate and execute production sourcing moves to meet corporate objectives. • Perform supply demand analysis, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 months. • Provide delivery commitments on promotional products, which involve collaboration with the MSM team regarding material and F&A for capacity. • Develop inventory targets and manage to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis. • Maintain inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels. • Project inventory levels on a quarterly basis. Update Master Production Plan as necessary. • Liaise with appropriate functional partners through the product life cycle to ensure timely NPD execution, PIPO and delete management, minimizing returns and dumps. • Provide information to Production Supply Planning Business Unit Manager in support of the Customer Service allocation process. • Engage in process review and redesign geared towards continuous improvement. • Support RCCP activity for critical resources.
