Details: Generator Tech Level 3 Our Generator Technician Level III is a seasoned journeyman in the power generation field with extensive field experience and certifications in engine and generator service. Our Level III Technicians possess extensive experience and training on both automatic and static transfer switches, multiple unit paralleling and utility paralleling systems. The Level III Technician has excellent communication skills and has the ability to effectively convey customer needs utilizing technical knowledge of power generation. This is a detail and results oriented position with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities : • Engine maintenance and troubleshooting for all fuel types • Maintenance machines ranging from 5kw to 2000kw • Engine repair and overhaul on all engine types • Advanced troubleshooting of generator ends, including harmonics and compatibility issues • Troubleshoot and repair all types of ATS and paralleling systems, distribution and utility gear • Accurately evaluate parts reusability and perform repairs in accordance with manufacture guidelines and established policies and procedures • Facilitate repairs with improvised parts when factory parts are unavailable and perform field engineering changes when conditions mandate • Remain current on the latest technology in generator diagnostics and repair • Effectively communicate abstract and complicated problems • Diagnose engine and electrical component / attachment problems • Read / interpret engineered drawings, blue prints and schematics • Recognize, diagnose and source replacement parts • Ability to install a complete package generator set and peripheral equipment from materials supplied by engineering department. • Work primarily off-site with minimum supervision • Utilize diagnostic tooling and literature when troubleshooting machine systems and components. • Provide timely high quality repair while working in conjunction with other mechanics and apprentices • Submit accurate and legible service reports and forms in a timely manner • Safely operate heavy equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations • Diagnose, repair, adjust and recondition diesel engines, engine systems and components • Apply basic warranty understanding to diagnostic and repair process • Utilize computer technology when researching engine information and conducting diagnostic on engine systems • Open, review and close work orders while remaining up to date on open work orders. • Work closely with Parts and Sales Departments and customers • Assist Service Manager as required • Monitor workforce and provide as needed assistance with service work schedules • Coordinate workflow and provide supervision as needed
