Technical Sales - Sales Engineer - Reducing Water and Energy Usage

Fri, 06/12/2015 - 11:00pm
Details: Technical Sales - Water Treatment - Conserving the World's Most Precious Resource Our Client: In many parts of the world, money isn’t the most sought-after resource — water is. Around the world water shortages are becoming more and more common. Energy consumption is always a top concern. Our client is dramatically helping industrial, commercial and institutional water users reinvent the way they manage water. Innovative chemistries, real time system monitoring and engineered equipment / mechanical solutions are reducing both water and energy consumption while protecting valuable equipment such as chillers, boilers, condensate lines, steam systems, cooling towers and turbines. The Issues and What You Will Do: Our client provides a full 6 month training program . With that in mind, here is the background and what you have the opportunity to do Power generation, manufacturing, industrial facilities, food and beverage, as well as large institutional and commercial facilities (such as hospitals, universities, data centers, refrigerated warehouses, large hotels, etc.) all have water based utility systems. Examples of these systems include: boilers, cooling towers, chillers, condensers, heating, cooling, steam systems, condensate, and, in some cases, wastewater treatment. There are 3 main issues: Clean water is becoming scarce . It is imperative that we reduce the consumption of clean water. Water is also a "bad actor." It not only corrodes the systems mentioned above but the minerals in the water will plate out (scale) the systems dramatically reducing their efficiency. Energy is a precious resource and must be conserved. There are ways to combat these issues and this is where you come in. You will call on and work with mechanical and utility engineers, maintenance managers and operations managers within these facilities to present your engineered solutions for reducing water and energy consumption and combating the scale and corrosive issues associated with water. These solutions are a combination of various water treatment chemicals along with equipment / mechanical solutions. This is a "hands-on" technical sales position . You are in the boiler rooms, on the roofs where the cooling towers are, running water tests, adjusting controllers and making real-time recommendations to your clients. 50% of your time will be taking care of current accounts (for which you earn your salary and the base commission of $10K - $12K). The remaining 50% of your time will be calling on potential new clients to bring them unique solutions. By year 3, your income will be in the $85K - $90K range consistently. By year 4, top sales representatives consistently make 6 figures. Our Client's Culture: Our client recognizes that changing careers is a critical decision. So if you want a company where you can: Grow your career Have fun Make money ...and make a significant contribution to your team, your customers and the community in which you live...then this career is for you. What's In It For You? 6 month training program positioning you for success On-the-job hands-on training through traveling with other representatives Strong commission program Company car (which is available for personal use) Medical benefits available Day 1 plus Dental, Vision, 401k Requirements: 4 year degree (science or engineering) 1 to 3 years of experience in B2B technical sales or experience in HVAC, military, project or process engineering, power plant, utilities, etc. Drive and desire to be in a "hands-on" technical sales role A personality that is relational, resilient, persistent, competitive, creative, autonomous (i.e. you can work alone) and team-oriented (you work and build with others and put the good of your client first) Then this may be just the company and career you are looking for. If this opportunity sounds like one where you will get excited jumping up out of bed on a Monday morning, then reach out to me, Skip Freeman, at or call at 678-389-9920
