Automotive Vehicle Inspector - Part-Time with Benefits - Dallas, TX
Details: DESCRIPTION SGS Automotive Services N.A., a division of SGS Group based in Geneva Switzerland, provides commercial and statutory automotive related services to our clients in the US, Canada, and Mexico. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Performs accurate and timely off lease vehicle inspections and certified pre-owned dealer audits while acting as the liaison between SGS’s customers and their customers. REPORTING LINE • Reports to the Automotive Inspector Manager SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Drives a personal vehicle to and from assignments and/or inspection sites • Detects signs of previous damage or structural damage by viewing the undercarriage, engine and trunk compartments, the exterior and interior areas of the vehicle • Identifies scratches, gouges, dents and dings on the vehicle • Recognizes vehicle color classification • Determines excessive wear and tear and chargeable and non chargeable damages in accordance with established policies and procedures and customer guidelines • Communicates and exchanges information verbally and in writing with lessees, dealers and customers regarding products and services • May be assigned to work within other product lines or inspection types • Assure the highest level of service and compliance with contractual obligations, customer needs and Company policies and procedures • Assure the most efficient use of working time • Follow scheduled hours, and be available for overtime work as needed • Performs other duties as directed • At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct. QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable. • Experience in adjusting, and/or automotive services preferred, but not required. Details: Refrigeration Technician Lineage is currently searching for a Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team. The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for maintaining, operating, inspecting, and repairing various types of ammonia refrigeration equipment. This position performs preventative and predictive maintenance as directed by the direct Supervisor, verifies that all equipment is operating within the manufacturer’s specifications and tolerances through periodic testing and inspections. Duties include: Perform PM maintenance and repairs as directed by the direct Supervisor on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, purgers, and other machinery included in the ammonia refrigeration equipment. Replacement of defective mechanical and manual valves Control the equipment set points to accommodate the needs of our customers and maintain the integrity of their product. Maintain control of the water treatment system and associated chemicals Replace defective fan motors Remove ice buildup from evaporator drain pans, investigate the cause and correct the problem Work in motor room, freezer, and blast cell areas Drain oil from ammonia system Fill out daily reports as directed by the direct Supervisor Remove and reinstall ammonia compressors Perform motor alignments by use of dial caliper indicators Compressor and pump shaft seal replacements Perform oil and ammonia sampling for analysis on a regular schedule Work directly with all refrigeration contractors, electricians, and pipe fitters when they are working on the ammonia refrigeration system to ensure that they are following all of the company safety policies and meeting work standards. Inspect ammonia detection system Ensure that all ammonia system safeguards are functioning properly at all times Check integrity and tolerances by the use of a micrometer Must be able to read and interpret P& ID drawings Troubleshoot electrical problems Ability to write SOPs, pump-down procedures, LOTO procedures. Responsibilities Supervises, guides and schedules training, when necessary of all maintenance personnel in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, electrical systems, mechanical stems, structural elements, motor vehicles and equipment Schedules and performs regular inspections of structures and systems and corrects problems, if any Supervises and provides or schedules training for employee use of company equipment and/or vehicle Assists in the maintenance portion of the overall property budget and ensures that all maintenance operating expenses remain within the existing budget Develop and implement an inventory control program along with a preventative maintenance program Responsible for expenditures within company guidelines Direct and supervise the day-to-day administrative operations of the maintenance functions including the scheduling and assignment of work, submission of reports and paperwork (invoices, time sheets, new hire/termination information, employee counseling and evaluations) and record keeping functions in a timely manner. Purchases all maintenance supplies and materials in a cost-effective and efficient manner Prepares request for quotes and work scopes and follows company procedure in obtaining bids on purchases or work to be performed Conducts inspections of contracted work - checking for the quality and conformance with specifications and costs Timely reporting of any property loss on liability related incidents to the insurance company Timely reporting of any work related injuries to the workers’ compensation insurance company Comply with all local, state and federal regulations as well as all company policies and procedures Excellent compensation and benefits package.
