Tax Analyst Developer

Details: JOB SUMMARY Under the guidance of a senior, lead or principal software engineer, designs, develops and maintains software components and products that support H&R Block Tax software applications. Uses tools, languages, coding standards and best practices to develop new product features and maintain year over year product functionality and enhancements. Creates and executes unit tests and addresses defects. Works closely with the QA, User Experience and other teams to ensure consistent understanding of tax related requirements and approach. JOB DUTIES Utilization of tax knowledge to effectively develop applications Designs, develops and maintains software components for tax preparer software applications Creates and maintains documentation of design approaches. Creates and maintains documentation on internal architecture of the system under the guidance of senior or lead software engineer. Participates in technical design and code reviews for all new enhancements and maintenance work delivered. Under the guidance of the lead engineer or senior software engineer, understand business and functional requirements and produces technical specifications and product requirements. Creates, maintains and executes unit test and alpha test plans. Maintains current knowledge on the latest tax regulatory changes relevant to the DOR’s or IRS laws and theories associated with specific states or forms accountable for. Monitors and analyzes new tax developments to determine effects. Develops written analysis of new tax law, rulings, case law, and regulations for dissemination to field associates, other WHQ departments, and the general public.

Details: DESCRIPTION At the Scientist I level, the incumbent will support technical activities in developing, optimizing, and validating bioassays for in vivo and in vitro potency assays for both vaccines and therapeutics. The Senior Scientist will also oversee life cycle management activities for bioassays, and will contribute to development and implementation of other analytical techniques used for characterization and quality control of drug substance and drug product. The Senior Scientist will work with cross-functional teams to define technical needs, deliverables, and milestones to meet project milestones and quality and regulatory requirements. POSITION LEVEL The Scientist level incumbent will use professional concepts to solve a variety of technical problems and will be able to demonstrate technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others with independence. This level will work on problems of moderate scope in which analysis of situations and data requires a review of identifiable factors, and will exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions. At the Senior Scientist level, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to think strategically from a project/program perspective and translate the strategic thinking to a technical level to develop appropriate-phase analytical methods and hands-on laboratory work. This level uses professional concepts to contribute to development of the company's technical concepts and principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways. The incumbent at this level works on extremely complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables, and will exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, optimize, and validate in vivo and in vitro test methods (eg, ELISA) as a potency test method for release and stability monitoring of development and commercial drug products. This includes development of reagents (eg, monoclonal antibodies), reference standard, and controls. Oversee life cycle management activities for potency assays Collaborate with others within the development and research departments; actively support development of test methods and testing of new drug candidates at various stages of development. Create and review technical and regulatory documents, including analytical method development reports, method validation protocols and reports, and standard operating procedures, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage the activities of external laboratories that have been contracted to conduct assay development or sample testing. Manage technical transfer of assays to QC and contract laboratories in a cGMP environment. Provide scientific guidance to technical staff when appropriate. Support the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on quality and that fosters learning, respect, open communication, collaboration, integration, and teamwork. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS At the Scientist I level, a PhD in a relevant field with 0 2 years' related experience, preferably in bioassay development. At the Senior Scientist level, a PhD in a relevant field with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in bioassay development. Experience with a wide range of analytical techniques and in-depth knowledge of ELISA and animal-based tests. Knowledge of (up to expertise in) statistical data analysis, depending on level. Excellent analytical, technical writing, communication, and data management skills. Experience working in a GLP/GMP or other regulated environment. Ability to work independently and multi-task under aggressive timelines to support department and corporate objectives. A self-starter who is flexible, as well as action- and goal-oriented. Details: Our Kansas City location is looking for a Receiving Coordinator. This position is responsible for receiving shipments and performing data entry on a computer. Daily schedule is 8:00 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. Candidates with only picker or packer experience may not be qualified for this position. Candidates must have computer skills to be qualified.
