Details: Position Summary: This position provides necessary inventory analysis in order to keep inventory carrying cost low and / or prevent obsolescence and deployment coordination in order to optimize service to the customer by maintaining and enhancing the company’s objectives. Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: Performs independent analysis to identify opportunities for right sizing in inventory, warehousing and production to reduce costs and improve service to customers. Optimize utilization of T. Marzetti and minimize outside warehousing. Determine customer order sourcing guidelines (both peak and non-peak season) & issues guidelines to customer service accordingly. Establish, deploy and monitor replenishment inventories to needed facilities in order to balance inventories. Monitor and reconcile inventories (lot codes & suffixes), and audit storage and handling invoices. Monitor and reduce cost associated with overstock and aged inventory. This will include monitoring daily inventory for shelf life age, maintaining inventory aging database (MS Access), corresponding with Sales, production, QA, and logistics to receive disposition. Creating Sr. Management reports and providing analytical opinions on how to reduce cost overall. Evaluate stocking strategies through creation of management level reports and analysis in order to recommend production levels and warehousing strategies for best case service levels and efficient production utilization. Monitor, reconcile and research inventory adjustments, and report findings monthly, quarterly and annually. Optimize order fill and reduce transfers with stocking strategies. Daily deployment will require working with a team of production facilities and deployment coordinators to ensure we maintain our stocking and deployment strategies established by the Sales & Operations department. Develop long and short term inventory plans. Independently contrast, compile and distribute management level inventory and logistics reports using Excel, to include creation and manipulation of spreadsheets, pivot tables, graphing Organize data from the AS400 and Data Mining programs into spreadsheet form for analysis and reporting as needed. The Financial Analyst job responsibilities include: •Prepare daily direct and indirect labor database and summarize by program, department and pay type. •Prepare and record all payroll journal entries in SAP •Analyze all direct and indirect labor compared to budget and/or forecast •Code all indirect labor and other non production invoices to the appropriate account and cost center. •Assist the Senior Financial Analyst and Plant Controller with month end closing •Assist the Senior Financial Analyst and Plant Controller with monthly cost center reviews by: Comparing to budget/forecast Meeting with various cost center owners and review the results of the operations Investigate any variances Qualifications: •Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or close to completion, required •2-3 years of financial analysis experience, required •Advanced Excel, required •SAP experience, a plus •Plant experience, a plus •Good organizational skill •Strong teamwork sense •CPA or MBA, preferred Interested and like to learn more about the Financial Analyst job in Detroit, MI?
