Maintains current knowledge on environmental laws and regulations and a working knowledge on the scientific and technical aspects of regulatory requirements and how they may impact company operations. May act as a lead person or lead technical expert and provide direction to less experienced personnel working on small to medium-sized initiatives. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as subject matter expert for moderately complex technical program and compliance issues and supports company’s environmental goals, strategies, programs and processes. Develops and maintains procedures and programs to assist facilities in complying with environmental laws and regulations. Ensures that Duke Energy work procedures address compliance guidance. Tracks regulatory changes, legislative activities and industry standards and identifies needed changes to facility’s compliance programs. Works with federal, state and local regulatory authorities to interpret regulations and laws. Represents Duke Energy on various internal/external industry committees and teams Provide regulatory-required and internal environmental reports. Develop assigned environmental training programs. The Department seeks a Senior Applications Analyst to join its staff. The Information System at Cerritos College supports both instructional and non-instructional functions for the entire campus community on a 140-acre campus. The Department: • Supports over 2,200 faculty, staff, and student desktop and notebook computers. • Supports over 600 concurrent student sessions via our online student portal. • Maintains the District’s PeopleSoft ERP modules for Human Resources, Campus Solutions, and Portal. • Applies patches and fixes to the District’s PeopleSoft ERP a minimum of four times per year. • Provides for the security of the District’s data within our applications and systems. • Supports a network consisting of over 6,000 switched ports. • Supports 30 buildings distributed among 40 wiring closets over a redundant gigabit fiber-optic backbone. The Senior Applications Analyst will report to the Director of Information Technology and will provide software applications, programming and project leadership. The Senior Applications Analyst will be able to: • Support our Oracle PeopleSoft ERP with concentration on primarily supporting our Financial Aid department needs on Campus Solutions and/or Human Resources modules. • Design applications and complex programs for a full range of software and database applications. • Independently assist users in defining and developing new applications. The Senior Applications Analyst will work independently in an office with a high volume workload which requires accuracy and attention to detail. This position requires the ability to relate well to users, and to effectively plan, evaluate and serve the District. The ability to listen to the needs of users and explain technical issues in simple language is essential. The ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely manner is also important. DISTINGUISHING CAREER FEATURES The position requires expanded capability to consult with users from multiple functions, and for original multi-faceted, multiple platform applications, lead complex projects involving multiple departments/committees, work independently on multiple platforms, and write complete standalone systems in several languages. Incumbents are expected to maintain expertise in one of the College’s major systems such as business/finance packages or student information systems, and will demonstrate the ability to install, test, customize and maintain standardized applications. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Education and Experience: Required: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, plus four years of progressive experience in applications development and support. Additional experience in applications development may substitute for some higher education. Preferred: Experience in application development, support and regulations for Financial Aid department. SALARY/FRINGE BENEFITS • Grade 52 on District Salary Schedule ($5,802.00- $6,992.00/month). • Health and welfare benefits include District contribution for medical/dental/vision benefits and employee life insurance ($50,000). • Participation in the Public Employees Retirement System and Social Security. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT • Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday - Friday) • This is a full-time 12 - month classified position. • Initial placement of employees on Classified Salary Schedule is at Step 1.
