CNC PROGRAMMER

Details: CNC PROGRAMMER Connecticut Tool and Manufacturing is a recognized leader in the manufacturing of high quality, complex components for the Aerospace Industry. We are currently in need of a CNC Programmer. Job Summary: Plan and develop CNC programs for horizontal, vertical milling machines and cnc lathes. Process used primarily for manufacturing aerospace products. Program CNC manchines using advanced cutting tools and technology. Design fixtures for manufacturing the products. Programming primarily using NX Software as well as Mastercam and Edgecam. Establish CNC programming Engineering Standard Work procedures as part of the development of a virtual modification tooling qualification system. Major Responsibilities & Activities: 1. Provide input on fixture design. 2. Work on standardization of tool program within family of parts. 3. CNC Programming of Lathes and Milling multi axis. 4. Work with team to develop new part process. 5. Interaction with all levels of management, engineering personnel, tool room personnel and shop floor personnel will be involved. Cellular Manufacturing. 6. Read, interrogate and interpret customer and engineering blueprints and solid models. 7. Determine the sequence of machine operations, select the proper cutting tools, determine reference points, machine cutting paths, hole locations, compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures required to machine work pieces into the desired shapes. 8. Write instruction sheets and cutter lists for a machine's operator and controller in order to guide setup and encode numerical control tapes. Optimizing the tools. 9. Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications. 10. Revise programs to eliminate errors, check that problems have been solved, and/or to enhance efficiency. 11. Contribute to a problem solving team of engineers performing process interrogation and root cause analysis improving and troubleshooting our current tool qualification system. 12. Establish CNC programming Engineering Standard Work procedures as part of the development of a virtual modification tooling qualification system interfaced between NX CAD, NX CAM, Solid Edge CAD, CMM data matrix. Develops skills and knowledge in the safe and proper operation of selected items of WS equipment and learns their operational and technical characteristics. Able to describe wellsite-specific performance requirements of equipment. Acts as mentor and coach to trainees and other maintenance personnel. Coaches Equipment Operators/FS/FE s in the correct STEM-I procedures of electronic equipment and components. Understands career objectives and completes the necessary training and self-study for promotion to the next level as per the WS Maintenance SCDP. Reviews and discusses progress with Supervisor and maintains training records in LMS. Participates in the District HS&E & Quality initiatives and programs (eg. SOIM's, Risk Assessments, Quality Improvements, Emergency Response Plan, HSE and SQ Objectives, LPT and SQC) Participates in well-site operations to develop an understanding of the application and operating conditions of WS equipment. Responsible for the proper documentation of all aspects of each maintenance task (eg. Labor tracking and Repair Orders in Fleet Assistant, STEM reporting, Best Practices in InTouch, etc.). Performs a Risk Analysis (eg. HARC, JSA, Stepback 5x5) before each job or task to identify & address potential safety hazards. Corrects and reports hazards immediately in QUEST. Uses the Company computer-based systems for the planning, documentation and information relating to maintenance tasks (eg. Fleet Assistant, InTouch). Details: We have an exciting, new opportunity to work as an Estimator with our highly regarded client in Farmington Hills, Michigan. As an Estimator, you will report directly to the Vice President of Sales and interact/interface frequently with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales. A majority of the time the Estimator will be producing costs based on specifications, drawings, and other input from various sources. The Estimator is responsible for all facets of the estimate assigned including but not limited to: preliminary design, gathering and evaluating quotes, scheduling, and assisting in proposal writing in accordance with the company capabilities and goals. The overall responsibility of the Estimator is to assist Sales and once a project is sold, produce an "as-sold" estimate for the project manager to use as a guide. Major Areas of Responsibility * Prepare detailed accurate material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, construction facilities, estimates. etc. * Participate in meetings, projects and activities in support of company and team goals. * Perform timely bid submittals and follow up. * Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value. * Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications and contract Statements of Work and Bid Invitations. * Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, providing consideration for general and special conditions. * Prepare scope specifications and requirements, prepare and inputs project schedules, perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost summary sheets, and input quantities into estimating software. * Maintain an accurate, current database cost codes of accounts for historical data. * Review Company jobs and compare on a timely basis to as-sold estimates to confirm accuracy of estimate. * Utilize the appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates. * Maintain proficiency in relevant knowledge skills and in the use of equipment applicable to the position. * Manage estimators and administrative personnel in performance of department. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Skills & Abilities as Follows (Basic/Preferred) * Extraordinary organization skills, able to manage priorities and work-flow. * Possess strong mathematical and computer skills.
