Associate Interior Designer

Details: General Purpose: Supports and collaborates with Senior Design Staff on the development of Herman Miller showrooms, facilities, exhibitions, and trade-shows to accurately and dynamically reflect and further the brand positioning. Provides space planning, design, visualization, and creative problem-solving expertise to team members and internal partners in support of business plans. Essential Functions: Uses Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) and related software to produce, manage, coordinate, and assist in the creation of 2D and 3D assets that depict space planning concepts, furniture layouts, and color-material-finish options for Herman Miller facilities, showrooms, exhibitions, and trade-shows. Creates visual assets that test multiple spatial concepts and potential designs solutions. Creates design documentation from concept through schematic design, design development, and detailed construction drawings. Designs space to conform to federal, state, and local laws; and regional building codes. Reviews and details shop drawings for construction/installation. Prepares and creates presentations. Refines and revises concepts and designs based on feedback from team members; including Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Senior Design Staff to arrive at creative solutions that meets or exceeds project goals. Works with other team members in branding, marketing, and graphic design to ensure that spatial solutions are aligned with graphics and messaging for brand consistency. Responsibilities Include: Identify, pull, and prepare product for shipment Packaging and shipping of samples Perform quality inspections to identify manufacturing defects or labeling issues Perform cycle counts and audits as required Perform data entry on computer system Maintain a clean and productive work environment
