CNS NICU / EDUCATOR - FT DAY

Details: This position, through advanced education and clinical practice, is an agent of change and professional growth in a specialized clinical area. The position is directed toward enhancing the quality of patient/family health care via the multiple roles of expert clinician, consultant, educator, researcher, and leader. This position plans, coordinates, and implements staff development, continuing education, orientation, annual update, and competency evaluation processes including remediation of staff. Fifty percent of the CNS role must be designated to the NICU. Has oversight of patient and primary caretaker education; ensures a coordinated and effective discharge planning program; acts as a consultant/resource for staff on complex nursing issues; participates in multidisciplinary team meetings. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support St. Bernardine Medical Center"s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities. Requirements: Minimum of three years experience in Neonatal Nursing Care and at least one of which shall be in a facility with a NICU that is equivalent to a regional or community NICU. Experience in course design and presentation preferred Masters degree in Nursing. Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a national organization Demonstrated progressive teaching and communication skill Current valid California Nursing License, Clinical Nurse Specialist License, Evidence of current successful completion of a neonatal resuscitation program of the AAP and AHA, NRP Instructor validation within 6 months of employment in the position, BLS Hello humankindness...
