Regional Director of Career Placement
Details: GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for training and developing Career Placement Coordinators with employment searches, career goal setting, occupational searches, resume preparation, interviewing techniques and other strategies leading towards the employment of graduates; Increase the representation of Career Placement Coordinators in job development activities with local and regional employers; Design, train and implement various workshops in career planning, job hunting skills, professional development and internship programs; Assist Career Placement Coordinators with all Career Services activities to include the alignment of academic preparation, the certification process and career aspirations; Plan, implement and track campus career fairs and outreach programs to promote and encourage use of Career Services by students, faculty and staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Train, monitor and enhance performance of Career Placement Coordinators through positive feedback Develop and monitor career counseling services, job search assistance and internship opportunities Develop and monitor student workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills and other related topics Organize and coordinate job fairs on campus Support students by facilitating, promoting and coordinating contacts with employers, recruiters and other resources Engage businesses in the community to provide guest speakers, internship mentors and to expand job placement opportunities Document all program activity, track student placement in jobs and internships, analyze data and present periodic reports to the Director of Education, Program Chairs and Campus Directors Comply with all college policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations Participate in relevant campus and college sub-committees Maintain up-to-date Graduation and Employment Charts with supporting documentation to ensure above-minimum Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) standards are met Monitor the certification/licensure process by ensuring the collection of applications, coordination of the requisition of exam fees, mailing completed applications and maintaining contact with graduates until in-placement fields are verified Monitor upcoming scheduled test dates and call students before and after Make daily/weekly calls to network with potential employers to ensure placement rates exceed minimum standards Maintain a Success Board and keep all plaques and awards updated and on display Send and maintain Graduate Satisfaction Surveys for six months after graduation Research and respond to employment advertisements on employment websites, company websites and classified ads Make face-to-face visits with employment agency recruiters, human resources personnel, spa and salon owners, etc. for externships, initial employment and continued gainful employment opportunities Periodically serve as a guest speaker in Seminar Classes – topics of discussion to include resume writing, professional dressing, interviewing, etc. Sit on a variety of volunteer boards throughout the community as a way to keep the college’s name out in the public and generate a source of potential employment leads for graduates Assist in the performance of special projects and any other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director of Student & Career Services
