Details: The Gilchrist Asphalt Plant Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, accepting, and/or rejecting work performed in relation to GCC's asphalt operations. Has a good understanding of highway/roadway paving operations requirements. Demonstrates familiarity of roadway QC standards, procedures, and applicable codes. Has a good understanding of computer software, including MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Possesses a valid drivers' license and is approved to drive company vehicles. Position requires a good understanding of the specification requirements (mix designs) for super pave asphalt mixtures Consistently samples and makes adjustments to maintain mix, as per specifications. Demonstrates the ability to mix designs which meet DOTD specifications and maintains accurate records of mix design percentages and required mix specifications. The Asphalt Plant QC Technician also maintains lab equipment in clean and working order and ensures calibrations are up to date. This position will serve as a student, continually seeking educational growth, while also working as a mentor, demonstrating the willingness and ability to train incoming QC lab technicians. This position will report payments of asphalt materials to GCC project management team when completed as well as reports daily plant totals and inventory on a daily basis.
