Network Support Engineer
Details: Job Summary: Provide technical assistance, support, and advice to users under the direction of Corporate Network Manager. Continually monitor the stability and security of all L&S network hardware and software to support all business units. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide technical support for all L&S Electric network hardware and software at all locations. Write procedures and train computer users on how to properly use. Oversee the daily performance of the computer systems and evaluate software programs for usefulness. Monitor server backup and restore user files when needed. Install and support LAN, WAN, network segment, Internet, or Intranet system. Provide day to day onsite administrative support for users and maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure availability to system users. Gather data to identify needs and then use that information to identify, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements. Monitor all software on L&S owned computers for proper licensing and security including engineering software; renew software as needed. Responsible for maintaining engineering resources; log in and out. Program SQL, VB, and Access. Assist users in diagnosing problems and walk them through the problem-solving steps. Create applications using Microsoft Sharepoint Coordinate work responsibilities with outside resources as it relates to installation of new hardware and applications or maintenance of existing systems. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES : May plan, coordinate and implement network security measures. Make recommendations for enhancements in the construction of future servers and networks. Contract outside vendors, as needed. All other duties as assigned by manager.
