Zero injuries is our goal · Assist in planning and implementing programs and processes to maintain a workplace that meets or exceeds federal and state safety requirements · Coordinate Emergency Management Oversight including Emergency Responses and FM loss control · Location expert in safety and security matters including integration of Health & Safety Best Practices into the mill · Ensures a proactive approach to injury prevention · Support mill Manufacturing Excellence initiatives · Demonstrate Commitment Model leadership behaviors · Lead the mills Safety and Security departments · Provide oversight with Workers Compensation activities · Lead all safety training and ergonomic improvement initiatives · Oversee all contractor safety initiatives · Direct supervision of Health Services & Safety Advocates · Possess ambulatory capabilities to move around the mill, climb ladders, and catwalks POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for working with operations, maintenance, staff functions, and Union Leadership to develop initiatives and programs promoting safe work practices and improvements.
