The incumbent will ensure processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained, while also searching for, communicating and driving resolution to gaps in the quality management system which prevent the GNW sector from meeting customer requirements, with an emphasis on preventing customer quality events and instilling a zero quality defect mentality. Customers and Customer Expectations; Customers: (1) Internal and External Customers who buy or use Nonwoven materials and products (2) Business Units (3) Mill Management; (4) Mill Associates and Resources; (5) Corporate and GNW staff resources – including senior GNW leaders. Expectations: 1. Demonstrate Safety as a value by performing all job functions safely while also complying with corporate policies and departmental procedures; in an effort to reduce risk and eliminate loss. 2. Ensure ongoing mill compliance to the applicable FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and Corporate and Sector quality management systems requirements. 3. Ensure any deviations or non-conformances are effectively resolved; Assist with customer related quality issues and ensure timely resolution which prevents recurrence. Instill a quality culture within the mill operations. 4. Maintain state of the art knowledge in quality and regulatory related fields of study; Drive continuous improvement In the mill's quality and customer service performance and in the quality management system; drive training on key quality processes, tools and systems. 5. Provide strategic leadership for plant systems used in shop floor execution; provide project leadership in systems upgrades and/or installations Scope and Dimensions: The incumbent reports to the GNW Sector Quality Leader. Leads sector wide quality improvement projects and acts as the Quality Management representative. Provides supervision to plant hourly quality and systems associates Operations Personnel – NNF – 150 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES; Act as the Quality Management Representative. Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System to ensure ongoing compliance with the applicable FDA Medical Device, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 requirements, as well as the Corporate and sector Quality Management System Requirements. Act as host for the ISO, FDA, Corporate, or GNW Sector Quality Audits. Manage the Internal Assessment, Management Review, Complaint Handling, and Corrective/Preventative Action process, Design Transfer, Critical to Quality monitoring, Capability reviews. Provide direction to and coordinate the efforts of the Quality Assurance Resources and systems resources to ensure overall effectiveness in Quality Assurance and IT support of the manufacturing departments and to proactively identify and execute quality improvement programs and IT/ Systems capabilities. Provide direction and coordination of quality issues affecting our customers to ensure overall effectiveness and timeliness in complaint investigation and resolution. Encourage and drive mill teams to take ownership of customer satisfaction and to proactively execute customer service improvement programs. Through networking with customers, the mill teams, and the other Nonwovens Mills, anticipate potential customer service issues and drive to resolution. Participate in the GNW Sector Quality Capability Team and other Sector teams as needed to drive standardization and business systems improvement across the board. Lead A3 pathways as requested. Develop and drive implementation of mill Baby A3’s. Support the mill's EHS policy; comply with all local EHS legislation and codes; identify, report, investigate and address any EHS substandard acts and/or conditions; and drive the setting of EHS objectives and evaluate the effectiveness of the mill's EHS Management System. Provide Strategic guidance on mill shop floor executional systems; make recommendations around upgrades and gap closure of these systems; lead systems projects as requested Ensure the communication, implementation, and promotion of the World Class Manufacturing values, vision, mission, and foundations as a means for delivering manufacturing results. Details: Job Summary : Provide for the effective use of personnel, materials and machine downtime to maintain production equipment availability and performance at satisfactory levels through the planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting of repair activities. General Responsibilities: Review work orders and job lists, make estimates for labor and material costs, examine priorities and obtain proper approvals for repairs. Publish daily schedules. Make contacts, field investigations, file searches to define scope of work and organize jobs in a timely manner. Obtain materials by stores requisition, purchase order or prefabrication and insure correctness and specifications. Engage contractors, servicemen or engineering support as required. Maintain all required files and computer updates. Plan maintenance jobs, with assistance of the maintenance supervisors, to identify and provide materials, manning requirements, and other support needed to complete required work.
