RN Supervisor
Details: RN Supervisor The Team Nurse will function as a facility supervisor, monitoring and assisting with daily clinical care. Customer service and communication with residents and their family members will be a primary function. This RN will also assess residents' health condition, help develop treatment plans, supervise licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, and perform procedures such as starting intravenous fluids. They will assess, monitor, and educate the clinical staff on resident care services. The Team Nurse will oversee and provide direct patient care. They will also perform Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities to ensure regulatory compliance and uphold company standards. The Team Nurse functions under the leadership, direction and oversight of the Director of Nursing. The facility will have Registered Nurses that will cover 24 hour a day, 7 days a week. This is an entry-level, supervisory role in the nursing home. Both day and night shifts are currently available. The schedule will follow an alternating, 12 hour shift schedule. Duties and Role Seeks and obtains sufficient information necessary to function effectively in the health care setting where assigned. Adheres to established policies/procedures and expectations of the facility. Delivers direct patient care in a competent and professional manner. Performs non-complex wound care per aseptic technique per MD order and as delegated by the Lead RN. Measures and photographs wound progress and provides updates to the physician on an ongoing basis as changes occur. Performs specialized wound care procedures as delegated by the Lead RN that include, but are not limited to, the application of topical wound products, topical anesthetics, Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) and application of compression wraps, and primary and secondary dressings. Assists physician with specialized wound care procedures that include debridement and removal of unhealthy tissue to the level of subcutaneous tissue, tendon, muscle, and bone, tissue or bone biopsy, electrocautery for hemostasis, incision and drainage, suturing or stapling of skin and grafts. Follows up with lab results (obtain results, call MD and patient to follow up) and documents accurately in the clinical record. Writes all telephone or verbal orders received immediately and obtains physician signatures as necessary. Completes accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patient's condition and care given. Maintains the clinical record. Writes progress reports and summaries to physicians as appropriate.
