QUALIFICATIONS OF TECHNICIAN: -Must have some level of instructor led automotive training (e.g. high school automotive, vocational, college, technical school, OEM, etc.) -Must have working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc. -Must have valid driver’s license, and clean driving record DUTIES OF EXPRESS LUBE TECHNICIANS: -Making sure moving parts are lubricated if needed. -Injecting grease into units, such as springs, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand-or compressed air-powered grease gun. -Inspecting fluid level of steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions differentials, rear axle housings and shackles. -Checking air pressure of tires, adding water to the radiator, testing the battery, replacing oil and air filters, and spraying springs with lubricant. -Draining oil and refilling crankcase with right amount of new lubricant. -Working alongside a skilled technician to learn how to perform quality vehicle service maintenance repairs.
