Regional Buyer

Details: The Regional Buyer’s primary role is to develop and execute strategic sourcing projects for recurring demands and unique projects. Projects are identified locally and will require support for complex technical facilities and machines. This position completes projects with little to no supervision and manages mid to high level purchasing projects for Wacker Neuson entities across the region. Supply Base and Market : Develop a working knowledge of several indirect commodities, technical and non-technical (examples - energy, tooling, events, printings, fleet, packaging, technical facilities such as production facilities). Contributes to Commodity Supply Strategy for the Wacker Neuson region. Evaluates and recommends suppliers to execute recurring and unique projects. Maintains the strategic relationship for supply base to ensure capability for ongoing supply viability. Manages total acquisition cost for respective projects through advanced negotiation, process change and/or re-sourcing as appropriate, evaluation of service/specifications Develop and implement lean supply processes among repetitive suppliers: VMI, Kanban, supplier schedule methodology Effectively sources for indirect commodities to support the Product Development Process. Measures Supplier Performance based on Quality Assurance and Focus Factories and other departments input to identify and resolve out of bounds conditions for assigned suppliers, and related commodity suppliers at the local level Creates project-related savings reports Data Maintenance: Accurately and in a timely manner, processes data for material maintenance and additions as required. Maintains Purchasing function data in SAP: add new suppliers, PIR, Source list, price maintenance, and respective coding. Problem Solving: Orchestrates resolution of critical broad supply issues between all relevant/respective departments. Resolves any exceptions to ensure local level/regional support. Responsible for design and optimization of operative procurement processes Leadership Functions: Leads Implementation of purchasing group supply strategy for assigned projects within selected commodity group. Leads regional purchasing / savings project teams Assists in the training of other purchasing staff members, locally and globally Is a resource for the department and other buyers, locally and globally.

Tests are performed during manufacturing process after department completes tasks and before moving to the next step of the assembly process. Responsibilities Test parts and components for utility scale generators (low and high Voltage) following the standard operating procedures to ensure compliance to the specifications and quality standards. The testing performed includes high Voltage electrical tests. Conduct other electrical tests as instructed to determine where errors may be. Use blueprints, work instructions, schematics and electrical testing tools and equipment to check and test assemblies. Ensure each check point and traceability of the component is collected and tracked in the computer system. Maintain communications with the production department to ensure product passes testing and is ready for the next process in a timely fashion. Ensure each job is tracked appropriately using the job costing system so time can be billed correctly. Use basic measuring, hand and power tools as necessary. Use the non-conformity report to track any issues. Report any possible defects and failed tests to management. Responsible for the cleanliness, organization and maintenance of their area of work Maintain safe work practices and adhere to environmental, safety, and health standards. Follow the plan and schedule defined by the supervisor and production department Follow instructions to keep and follow 6S methodology. Complete other duties as assigned.
