Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Develop coatings formulations in areas such as DTM, primer, base/color coat, and clear coats using appropriate chemistry, design of experiments to meet performance requirements, wet and dry paint film properties, and application/appearance specifications as provided by the customer or marketing team. Test products, document test data, as well as generate and communicate test reports detailing project processes, results, and conclusions; recommend additional actions or research. Utilize knowledge of color science to develop pre-tinted or tint bases as needed. Understand and implement relevant ASTM based testing procedures and document the results correctly. Guide a cross-functional team to scale up laboratory formulas to production scale.
