Details: Apex Systems is seeking 15 Engineers for a large client in Milwaukee, WI. 8 Software Engineers and 6 Test Engineers to work on site in Milwaukee for 2 years. The scope of the project is to update its Linx Enterprise software communication product to support CIP Security P1. The update of Linx Enterprise will occur in three phases timed to meet Apex Systems client commercial goals. Each delivery will increase the product’s capability to operate within the larger CIP Security P1 system solution that Apex is building . Title: 8 Software Engineers and 6 Test Engineers Location: Milwaukee, WI Length: February 2016- January 2017 Description of Project: In short, RSLinx Enterprise (RSLE) is the communications service that handles the CIP messaging to/from devices. The security design software will use RSLE to handle the protocol work of sending/receiving the data over the EtherNet/IP network. Furthermore, RSLE itself needs to act as a secured endpoint as well. So one RSLE may be used to deploy security settings to another RSLE. ODVA released a new edition of the Common Industrial Protocol standard (November 2015) which included a new Volume 8 (Edition 1.1) that added security improvements to the protocol . Apex Systems will be implementing the protocol changes described in Volume 8 in a project known henceforth as CIP Security P1 . Phase II development activities are intended to implement the following items into the Linx Enterprise product: ● Incorporate CIP Security Protocol updates from ODVA ● Enhance the following areas of functionality to support wider range of Apex client products ● Policy Server (plug-in top side) ● RSLE Administrating 3 new CIP Security Objects to endpoint ● Global Topology Enhancements ● Audit / Status / Diagnostics Capabilities ● Separate topology search rights with data routable channels Phase III of the project will deliver the final set of capabilities to support the CIP Security P1 system solution’s October 2017 large commercial release.
