Design Engineer - Mercury Racing

Details: POSITION SUMMARY: Mercury Racing provides unique powertrains to meet the demanding requirements of the high performance segment of both the outboard and sterndrive recreational marine market. Recently, Mercury Racing's product offerings have expanded to include engines for non-marine applications. This opportunity is for a self motivated, independent, creative and conscientious Design Engineer. Responsibilities are far reaching, they cover: • Comprehensive layout and large assembly of engine, drive, and transmission components and systems. • Modeling of new components including castings, forgings, weldments, billet parts. Detailed drawings and release. • Working collaboratively with Development Engineers. • Maintaining part lists, BOM changes for projects. • Project management. • Work with procurement, suppliers, quality, manufacturing and service to ensure cross-functional requirements are met. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 5-years experience in design work including casting design experience. • Proficient in 3D CAD solid modeling, Pro/ENGINEER, PTC Creo Parametric preferred. • A passion for high performance engine and drive systems is a must. • Exceptional communication skills. The main role of this position will be to focus on strategically designing, developing, and implementing data models for an enterprise data warehouse. This individual will act as a primary advocate of data modeling methodologies and data processing best practices. As a secondary role, this individual will also develop and maintain ETL and RPD processes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Create the design of physical and logical data warehouse models identifying data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality * Draw on expertise to address production support issues for the existing data warehouse environment related to data * Create and maintain a current and accurate view of the "bigger data picture" by documenting the data architecture and environment * Creatively develop opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement * Create ETL specification documents * Create Semantic layer specification documents * Consult and advise technical analysts during development process * Develop, build and maintain ETL and RPD process when needed for projects and/or request * Develop testing analysis.
