This includes recording test procedures, results, numerical and graphical data, and making recommendations for changes in product or test methods. This will require you to call on your technical experiences and abilities to determine necessary test equipment, discover the nature of technical problems, and communicate possible solutions based on your findings. You may also find yourself participating in equipment installation at a customer site (steel mill) or troubleshooting and repairing complex problems with data acquisition equipment at a steel mill. Success depends on your ability to work in heavy industrial environments and your willingness to travel frequently, sometimes with little advanced notice.
