Proactively seeks to identify opportunities for process workflow improvements and operational efficiencies and provides recommendations for implementing changes. Actively assist in the creation of new techniques, technologies and ideas that will enable more proactive resolutions to issues and potential issues. Ensures the handling of backup tape media including incoming and outgoing backup tape requests in compliance with established processes and procedures. Performs SecureSync (Iron Mountain tasks are performed as warranted). Strives to achieve a high degree of customer satisfaction by increasing knowledge and skills on the job to obtain continuing improvements in first call resolution. Works in a team environment and consults with NOC personnel and procedures to optimize problem resolution. Works closely and in coordination with other NOC personnel to ensure proper turnover takes place between shifts. Acts upon direction from NOC management, Production Control, Technical Services, Network Administration, Server Administration and other Information Technology teams to implement immediate resolutions to more critical problems. Ensures NOC standards, policies, and processes including change control, compliance activities, audits, scheduled walk-throughs, checklists, logs and daily turnover/weekly management reports. Reviews scheduled NOC changes for potential impact to customers. Assist in developing, documenting, testing and the implementation processes and procedures. May perform clerical work incidental to machine operations such as labeling tape containers, maintaining production records, replenishing specified stock items and distributing output materials. Ensures facility security utilizing established entry access procedures. Maintains and ensures the NOC work area and other supporting rooms are clean, orderly and presentable. Reports any abnormalities or violations to NOC supervisor or manager. Ensures effective verbal and written communication of essential information at shift turnover to incoming NOC supervisor and employees. Perform mainframe and network printing and disseminate as requested according to NOC procedures and service level agreements. Attend all Information Systems, Corporate and OJT training as assigned by NOC management. Projects a positive attitude while being a team player and accepts change in a productive manner. Participates in Disaster Recovery activities as required. Performs other duties or special projects as assigned. Job qualifications: Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred but not required. Minimum of 2-3 years of technical school training or equivalent work experience in a related field required. Ability to work various hours, shifts, holidays and overtime as required.
