Details: SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, the Team Member must possess the abilities and aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. The following tasks are required by the person filling this position: In-Park Duties and Responsibilities Solve and handle Guest challenges with a "Can Do" attitude and efficient customer service. Interact with Guests on a one on one basis or in large groups and maintain professionalism and be focused at all times while on duty. Must be willing to communicate and enforce all rider requirements and restrictions which include height checks, weight distribution and grouping. Must be able to deliver friendly and informative announcements to our Guests from small to large groups in regards to weather, safety requirements and reminders, ride openings and closings, and Guest enhancements. Responsible for the proper and safe operation of rides and attractions. Must be able to follow and perform consistent and proper dispatching procedures, ensuring the safety of all Guests and Team Members at all times. Respond to emergency situations in a professional and efficient manner with a teamwork approach. Must be willing to maintain a clean work area to promote a safe working environment and help eliminate hazards throughout the park. Must be willing to perform Shallow Water Lifeguard and Water Attendant duties and responsibilities at all times. In-Service Responsibilities and Requirements Complete a minimum of 4 hours of in-service training a month. Team Member Expectations Maintain proper grooming and uniform guidelines at all times. Follow and enforce all park policies and procedures at all times. Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well with others. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with Team Members, all levels of management and departments. Certification Requirements Must be able to achieve certification as a Special Facilities Lifeguard and maintain certification through the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program. Responsible for maintaining all rescue skills at a "test-ready" level. Must be able to swim a minimum of 200 yards non-stop. Must be able to retrieve a 10lb. brick from a minimum 6 feet/maximum 12 feet of water. Must be able to tread water for 2 minutes without the use of hands or arms. Must be able to exit out of a pool without using a ladder. Requirements and Qualifications Must be at least 16 years old. Must be able to work 35-40 hours per week, varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends and Saturdays and/or Sundays. Must have reliable attendance and be punctual. Must be able to attend all mandatory certification courses, trainings and meetings. Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak and understand the English language. Must be able to work and maintain all job requirements at a consistent level in all weather conditions including, but limited to heat, cold, sun, rain and wind. Must be willing to stand in and move through water for periods of time at water depths from 0 to 6 feet. Must not have a fear of heights. Must be able to climb multiple levels of stairs to tops of towers throughout the day in a timely manner. Must be able to stand and walk a minimum of 7 hours a day over various surfaces. Requires continuous standing and/or walking, bending, eye hand coordination, a minimum of 20/25 vision or have 20/25 corrected vision, hearing and speech. Requires frequent kneeling, good motor skills, and color definition. Requires continuous pulling, pushing and holding of tubes, rafts and mats. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs. for a minimum of 25 feet over various surfaces.
