Manufacturing Process Engineer
Details: Johns Manville is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Manufacturing Process Engineer. The Manufacturing Process Engineer has the responsibility for directing and conducting tasks and/or projects to maintain or improve production processes and process control. In this position the successful candidate will be responsible for performing process optimization investigations, which will rely on data collection systems, control systems, and process modeling. The optimization activities will focus on understanding the relationship between Critical to Quality product parameters and the Key Process Variables (KPV’s). Once these relationships are established, the efforts will focus on improving the Process Capability Index (Cpk) for these parameters, cost reduction, improved operating efficiencies and improved yields. The Waterville plant located just outside of Toledo, Ohio manufactures direct melt products including wet chop glass fibers primarily for specialty applications, glass reinforcements for gypsum wall boards, direct dry chop for plastic reinforcements, single end roving for weavers and plastic reinforcements, glass mat and some specialty products. Responsibilities: Coordinate, monitor and complete project assignments in process improvement and process control. Identify opportunities and recommend modifications to systems and procedures that will improve process control, quality, costs and safety. Advise and influence plant management on modifications to existing equipment that will improve the overall process efficiency (FPY) without sacrificing product characteristics (CTQ’s). Work with Maintenance to allow for and establish improved preventive maintenance programs. Help coordinate Production and Maintenance activities, such as department shutdowns. Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s) for assigned production operation(s) and/or processes. Train operating personnel on the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and monitor control charts for processes that are out of control. Develop action or control plans to get back in control. Develop action plans for critical process variables in order to meet critical product characteristics. Audit production operations to ensure that process settings are as per standard operating procedures. Investigate deviations so that appropriate corrective actions can be taken. Work with the Innovation and Commercialization organization for all new product development initiatives including design of experiment techniques. Perform design of experiment techniques on existing products or processes in order to improve product characteristics or process stability. Be familiar with new processes, process equipment, process control equipment and inspection and test methods. Establish and manage training programs associated with process control and process operations. Investigate quality complaints for root cause of the problem and develop/implement corrective action plan to eliminate the root cause. Ensure that all safety, environmental and plant procedures are followed.

Area Vice President The Area Vice President is responsible for executing on organizational operations, service and business development strategies, providing operational leadership of staff including Account Managers, Directors, and staffing personnel. Also responsible for building and maintaining operational relationships with clients while providing outstanding customer service and delivery. Develops and maintains contracted vendor relationships to ensure participation in staffing programs and ultimately reach targeted fill rates for our customers. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: - Executes on business development and sales strategies - Provides day to day management and direction to Account Managers and is ultimately responsible for the delivery and execution of organizational business development strategy - Implements programs to promote recruitment and retention of staff - Represents the SVP/RVP when necessary and acts on his/her behalf in his/her absence - Consults with and advises the SVP/RVP/VP HR on problems relating to the operation of the region. - Recommends strategies to support and enhance company policies and programs. - Represents all product lines of business to their area of responsibility. - Assists in the preparation of the annual budget - Coordinates and integrates services within the facilities and corporate office and other area/regional offices. - Completes written performance evaluations on all personnel by evaluation date. - Interprets company policies, objectives and operational procedures to infrastructure and network staff. - Coordinates any construction and contractor’s activities to meet the needs of the regional/satellite operations. - Appropriately screens, selects, and monitors outside contract vendors in accordance with market needs - Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in area and satellite offices - Reviews, reports, and analyzes financial data, volume of business, and tracking reports as indicated - Completes goals established during prior year evaluation Requirements: -Bachelor’s Degree -Minimum of 5 years management experience within the Staffing or Recruiting Industry -Ability to execute on organization and regional strategies -Requires travel from 25%-50% of the time -Ability to handle multiple priorities and multitask -Ability to make decisions under pressure -Excellent oral and written communication skills Why Parallon?
