The analyses prepared under this candidate’s direction will also include projections and forecasts for future medical expense based on historical experience while incorporating any changes to the unit cost rates via new contracts, changes in APC, DRG, or other regulated medical pricing methodologies. In addition, other responsibilities will include ROI valuations for various strategic initiatives including partnerships with various utilization management companies, provider capitation agreements, and other vendor relationships. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to interpret and refine customer requirements and effectively fulfill information needs using available tools and techniques or through the development of ad hoc tools and processes. The candidate will need to review and communicate feedback to the analysts regarding timing and quality of work. In addition to the management activities, this position will also need to interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to data mining. The role may require taking operational issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools. The candidate may make recommendations based upon data analysis. The candidate may design, develop, implement, and maintain business solutions. The candidate will need to ensure that the analyst team validates data to ensure accuracy, quality, and integrity. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. This position will have exposure to a broad spectrum of the Senior Segment as findings and reports will be shared with various departments including but not limited to: Actuary, Network Operations, Provider Relations, Finance, Health Services, Shared Services, and regional market leadership. Ideal Candidates Will Offer: Bachelor’s degree or 6-10 years related data analyst experience with 5 plus years of experience in health care data analysis and reporting. Candidate will also have 3 plus years in a supervisory role, coaching or managing other analysts. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in analytical/problem solving, communication, presentations, organization, initiative, working independently as well as in teams, and managing and completing multiple tasks with tight deadlines. Successful candidate requires demonstrated experience using advanced Excel features and techniques, as well as experience with dataset application development. Ideal candidates will also have three to five years of experience working with health insurance claims and enrollment data, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Requirements: Using tools such as SQL, Excel, COGNOS, and other analytical/statistical software, the candidate will perform analyses of our medical and clinical data.
